The family running the site are so friendly and really care about your experience. They were also very helpful arranging a safari for our family as well as a transfer after our stay and both went flawlessly!

Amazing service, giving the best effort to make an unique experience. Despite camping, the rooms seems like a good hotel with large comfortable room. We stayed one night only, 2 could have been better for the safari and enjoy more the hotel. It was during our honeymoon and they made sure everything was pretty special. Special attention from food and beverage manager who seemed to be running the whole place, making sure everything worked out

First ask yourself what is the reason you want to be here - if you are here for the nature alone, Nilantha is the best person you can stay with and who you SHOULD take as a guide with you to the safari. He has a degree in biology , fluent English and knows so much about the local fauna and flora so a full day safari doesn’t get boring (which I can imagine can if you only take a driver with you). He is a true believer in ecotourism and is giving back to local communities. If you are here for a fancy dinner and facilities, go somewhere else. This is a simple stay in the jungle. And one more thing to add - your guide is not responsible for how many animals you’ll see BUT we were lucky and he for sure knows some spots where they MIGHT appear. And last but not least- Nilantha is a great and nice person we had a chance to meet :)

Our family recently visited Makini Bush Camp and we had an amazing time. The staff's kindness and helpfulness made our stay truly special. We were thrilled to witness incredible wildlife sightings, including graceful elephants, playful monkeys, and colorful birds. And the highlight of our trip was a breathtaking leopard sighting that left us in awe. The service provided was exceptional, and the staff went out of their way to engage our children. The Tree house was amazing !! Nice and wonderful experience ! The location was in a middle of no where only nature around but you feel safe. They organised a pickup to do Safari in Yala Park i highly recommend it !! They really well welcomed us ! Thanks 🙏 The staff was friendly and helpful.

Camp leopard gave us the ultimate experience! Great accommodation and a beautiful garden were we had dinner every night next to the camp fire. The full day safari is a must! We saw so much wild life, including a leopard and a bear and at lunch time we had a perfect spot at the river for a picnic and a swim. The host, Marc, went above and beyond to give us the best experience in Yala. He is fun and very knowledgeable about literally every animal and bird in the park. The next day we did a half safari and for the afternoon Marc had organized a safari in Udawalale (with the elephants) with their female ranger Chathu. She is wonderful, fun and knowledgeable and we had such a great time. We will definitely come back next year!

The crew is amazing!!! Always thinking ahead what would you need ... The food was great - we had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners - all was tasty :-) The walk in the bush was very nice The rooms are comfortable and located in the middle of the wild bushes and trees - this is very unique - each room/tent is isolated from the rest
