Owner was friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast assortment every morning. And we got to meet the sweet donkeys, goats, and chickens! Right next door to walking/cross country ski path! Would definitely stay here again!

The place is in a secluded valley, nearby a water stream, barely accessible by car and immersed in the peace and silence of nature. The rooms and restaurant and all the facilities are beautifully decorated with carved wood and local crafts, every detail is special and all is planned to make guests feel at home. Two beautiful cats and two dogs live in the property, making pet lovers feel at ease and kids happy to play with them. Just outside the property, there is plenty of opportunities to take long walks on easy trails, completely surrounded by forest and fields. The restaurant serves amazing, locally sourced food and has an incredible wine list. In one word, this place is paradise!

Agriturismo Al Palaz is an eco-friendly property that produces its own wine, fruit, vegetables, as well as different types of jams. It is set in San Cassiano Valchiavenna, 5 km from Chiavenna. Excellent place! First, smiley, kind host/owner who admitted us even thought we arrived a little early. The house is very clean, there is elevator. Our family room had a large bathroom, very convenient. Room was cleaned/organized every day, which is very rare in such small properties. One of the best things was breakfast, individually made eggs, the way you want them, good coffee, variety of cheese and prosciutto, jam, brads, and home made cakes served to you table! Impossible to resist! We enjoyed very much our stay, thank you!

Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Agriturismo La Ca' Vegia is a farm stay situated in a historic building in San Cassiano, 48 km from Villa Carlotta. Very nice agriturismo. On a farm with cows and calves, also a few cute and friendly dogs, some chickens, etc. It was alfalfa cutting time while we were there, and they were hard at work cutting the hay. It is a real working dairy farm and you can walk around to see the cows. There are several bikes of different sizes that you can use there to explore. The view of the surrounding mountains is just spectacular. There are chaise lounges where you can lay and just look at the mountains. The breakfast is huge and fresh and amazing--coffees and tea, yogurt (fresh from the farm, apple cake, cookies, fruit, fresh juice, cooked egg, cereals, bread, jam, butter, etc, all on your table for you. Room was comfortable and shower was nice. The building where we slept/ate is a historical postal stop from an era ago, I think for Italy/Switzerland. There are several rooms with historical artifacts and photos. Very charming. You can buy their dairy products on site from a vending machine (milk, yogurt, desserts, etc.), or also in town. Very easy check-in/check-out procedures. Short drive to Lake Como or Chiavenna. Also easy to access St. Mortiz, if you want.
