We had a lovely + relaxing stay at Quinta de Rabacosa and very much enjoyed the place and its beautiful natural surroundings. Fatima, the owner, was very welcoming & friendly + provided delicious breakfasts as part of the accommodation. We also were big fans of her 3 golden retrievers Oscar, Gaspar + Lucas as well as the other animals (goats, horses, a sheep and a cat named Tomas). If you have kids, they will definitely enjoy themselves here! It was also a wonderful opportunity to practice speaking Portuguese, unlike Porto + Lisbon and the more touristy parts of the country, you can't count on people speaking English in the area. If you go, take the wonderful (and very well marked) 10km Trilho das Levadas hike that goes through hills / creeks / forests and a small village called Granja (and then reward yourself with a dip in the nice pool afterwards). We would gladly come back again in the future!
