This was my second time at Barone di Villagrande...and I plan on going back a third. That should say it all. The stay is intimate and perfect for couples or travelers looking for a remote and relaxing stay away from crowds. The staff and the place is as local as it gets. The dinners accompanied with their wine tasting and breakfast are unbelievable. The pool overlooking the vineyards is stunning. And the location just steps from both the sea and mt etna is unbearable. A must for all travelers looking for an intimate and local getaway with true Sicilian hospitality.

The property was perfect for a family of 4. It is a charming house - if I recall correctly the property was originally used for making wine. Kitchen was well equipped. Patio at the back. The hosts were wonderful. Giovanna introduced the kids to all the animals who live next to the main house which is across the road. We were given recommendations. We needed medical help late one night and Giovanna was there in a flash to help us out. Location was great for us . Able to walk to the small village. We did an etna trip so handy for that. 100% recommended. I am sure we will be back.

Beautiful place to stay loved the pool, the views and all of our meals at the restaurant, doing the wine tour and tasting was a highlight of our trip. I wish I stayed here for a week at least.

If you are expecting the amenities of a hotel this is not the place for you. If you can appreciate rustic simplicity and natural surroundings this is the place to disconnect from the chaos of life and appreciate nature and simple pleasures. Walk amongst fruit trees, sit and enjoy a glass of Sicilian wine listening to the birds and marvel that this place has survived the whims of Etna. One of the best parts of our stay was the on- site dinners prepared by the very capable Signora Laura and conversations with both Laura and Giuseppe. Dinners were very abundant in both portions and variety, prepared with products grown on the property. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and bathroom with shower. Definitely would return.
