Very nice apartment / residential unit, just outside Matera. The unit is in perfect conditions, new, spacious and clean. Communication with the host, who live on site, was fine. There is gated parking on site. Requires a short drive on a country road. The place is in country terrain and there is not much around it, except for the host's small stables (were not active when we visited)

Perched on the edge of Sasso Barisano but with every convenience on hand, incl a gorgeous tea shoppe, post office, bookshop, supermarket. Very short walks to main Piazzo with tourist office, to Palazzo Lanfranchi, a plethora of restaurants. My room (first floor, with terrace) had a 180 degree view of the sasso, divine. Great to find a room with decent reading chair, desk, and light. Great pillows! Mimmo and Pina were extremely helpful throughout my time. Like most old houses in the town, the hotel looked rustic, a style that many people are attracted to. The suite we stayed in was a 1.5 story house, with a bed room on the 2nd half story. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable with good quality linens. The staffs were friendly.

The room, the breakfast, the hilltop views, the service. It was only about 5 minutes from Matera, but well away from city noise and congestion. Parking was easy and free, at the door to our spacious room. The Managers, Beatrice and Pasquale, speak English.

This was one of my favourite hotels and one night wasn’t long enough! The rooms are very well done, the setting is stunning, the pool is lovely, and breakfast was great. A very very peaceful and rustic luxury-feeling stay that offered great value for money!

The apartment is spacious and is fully equipped for cooking as well. The city center parking is just a 10 minute drive. You can visit caves made by prehistoric humans in less than 10 minutes walking distance.

The compound is situated on a hill with great views of the area. Rooms were big and the breakfast was great. The receptionist / manager there was very helpful.
