Very nice and spacy appartment in the city center - We stayed only for one night during the way from Bergen to Oslo, but I can imagine a long term stay here as well.

We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

Offering a restaurant, Løvheim Gjestehus is located in Sauland village. All the brightly decorated rooms include free WiFi access and a private bathroom with shower. Great home cooked dinner. Excellent value. Large room and very comfortable. Excellent wi-fi which came in handy since I did a video interview during our stay. Good lighter side breakfast.

Located 12 minutes’ drive from central Stokke, these apartments are located 12 km from the town of Tønsberg. All include free Wi-Fi access, and a private, furnished balcony. This apartment is very big & nice with 2 bedrooms located far apart from each other. It was the cleanest stay I had in Norway! Exceptionally clean. It is in a quiet location.

Nutheim Gjestgiveri is a family-run wooden hotel built in 1877. The hotel’s view over the Flatdal Valley is famous and has attracted painters and artists for generations. The four course dinner was delicious and beautifully presented! Ellen, the owner, told us the interesting history about the area before dinner. The next day she gave us a tour of the parsonage and chapel, which had been her childhood home. She made our stay so personal and special. It was a rainy fall day outside but inside it was cozy and we were able to sit by the fire for a relaxing morning.

Located on Lake Tinnsjå, this Telemark County property is 30 minutes’ drive from the town of Rjukan. It offers cottage accommodation with scenic views. Mini golf and a sauna are on site. The entire property is gorgeous in the most beautiful location right on the lake! The cabin was cozy with a comfortable bed and everything needed to make your own food.

This guesthouse lies between the Telemark villages of Bø and Seljord, 500 metres from Seljord Lake. It offers a hot tub and sauna facilities as well as free WiFi and private parking. Loved my stay at Solheim Overnatting! The host was incredibly kind and polite, making me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived.
