We really liked the hosting, very humble, interactive, helpful and friendly people we ever met. We really liked the Indian Chai that he made (he loves the Indian Tea), people should try that at least once. The host area is very calm and beautiful. We did some yoga and meditation, it's a perfect place to do that along with the host.

Notodden Sentrum Apartment NO 6 ligger på Notodden, bare 5,6 km fra Heddal stavkirke og 27 km fra Bø Sommarland. Overnattingsstedet har balkong og avgiftsfri privat parkering. Big apartment, suitable for families with kids. All equipment, everything one could need for a stay was provided. Owner was nice, explaining on the phone details about parking place. Cozy and spacious flat, very clean.

Tuddal Høyfjellshotel ligger i Tuddal, 12 km fra Gaustatoppen, og har en hage, avgiftsfri, privat parkeringsplass, terrasse og restaurant. We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

Løvheim Gjestehus ligger i bygda Sauland. Alle de lyst innredede rommene har kostnadsfri Wi-Fi og eget bad med dusj. Notodden sentrum ligger en 25-minutters kjøretur unna. Great home cooked dinner. Excellent value. Large room and very comfortable. Excellent wi-fi which came in handy since I did a video interview during our stay. Good lighter side breakfast.

This apartment is very big & nice with 2 bedrooms located far apart from each other. It was the cleanest stay I had in Norway! Exceptionally clean. It is in a quiet location.

Nutheim Gjestgiveri er et familiedrevet trehotell som ble bygget i 1877. Hotellets utsikt over Flatdal er berømt, og har tiltrukket malere og kunstnere i en årrekke. The four course dinner was delicious and beautifully presented! Ellen, the owner, told us the interesting history about the area before dinner. The next day she gave us a tour of the parsonage and chapel, which had been her childhood home. She made our stay so personal and special. It was a rainy fall day outside but inside it was cozy and we were able to sit by the fire for a relaxing morning.

The entire property is gorgeous in the most beautiful location right on the lake! The cabin was cozy with a comfortable bed and everything needed to make your own food.
