One of our best hotel stays in recent years, our corner room had all the comfort we may have needed, including small details like umbrella, slippers, the way breakfast is presented, etc. We usually try to avoid staying in old buildings, but this one was clean and well equipped/maintained.

We did not know what to expect when booking a room in a castle during winter time, especially as the price was more affordable or on par with other accommodations in the region. We were given an upgrade of our room upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise. We received a quite big, beautifully decorated room with a very comfortable armchair, and with a bathroom a couple of steps down the hall, which was not that big of a deal, especially when you think that you are in a castle, and castles did not have toilets in the room. Also the bathroom was modern, warm, and super clean so there was absolutely no problem on that end. It is still private. The location was very good for us as we had a plan to see Schaffhausen and Rheinfall and this is just 20 min drive away. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was excellent as well as the wine which was from a winery below the hill. The hotel/restaurant staff were super kind, they really added a little extra to this wonderful experience. In the evening we enjoyed being in the courtyard, enjoying the silence and the view of/from the castle, it felt like we had it for ourselves. We would gladly come back, hopefully someday we will.

The manager Arne is extremely friendly, helpful and can’t do enough for you. We arrived earlier than expected and our room was not ready so he made us feel very welcome with complimentary coffees and teas. He gave us advice on places to visit and a personal tour of the shop and it should have been his day off. Sven looked after us every morning for Breakfast, which was always freshly made according to our order and we got to hear some interesting stories from him. Overall an amazing base to explore the Zurich area and if we could rate Arne, his team and the hotel any higher we would. Thank you for looking after us and making our stay so comfortable.

Det familiedrevne Aparthotel Familie Hugenschmidt ligger i det charmerende Seefeld-kvarter i Zürich, blot 3 minutters gang fra Zürichsøens grønne bred og 5 minutters sporvognstur fra centrum. I made the booking for two friends, a newlywed couple. According to them, the owner was very kind and accommodating. They loved the open windows in the room and found the bed to be very comfortable. Also, they really appreciated the sweet little extras the owners did for their “honeymoon”. They would recommend.

Gibswerstube ligger i landsbyen Gibswil i kantonen Zürich, lige ved vejen til St. James. Der tilbydes restaurant samt værelser med gratis trådløs internetadgang. Very nice hotel where locals and tourists mingle. Great playground and racetrack for kids. Staff super friendly. We felt very welcome! And every hill/mountain in the area has an amazing cafe and things to do
