What a wonderful surprise to discover Hisa Ales. From the moment we entered and were greeted with a friendly face and a brandy cordial, our stay just got better. A nicely appointed and quiet room was expected at the highly rated Hisa Ales. What enhanced our experience was the food and service we received. Our dinner was outstanding – very fresh ingredients presented with flair. To accompany our meal – regional sausages and vegetables - our server recommended some brilliant local craft beers, our favorite being No Bullshit Lager. Breakfast which was included in our stay was a perfect way to start our day – a lovely assortment of fresh foods and if you desired an omelet cooked for you. However, what made our stay special was the exceptional service we received. From checking in, to our wonderful server at dinner who had excellent recommendations and a fabulous sense of humour, and to the owner that ensures his guests leave satisfied, it’s a challenge to find better. A touch off the well travelled roads, it’s a diversion well worth your time.

I was recently participating in the L’etape Slovenia bike race. I knew it was going to be a hard event so I wanted to be certain that I had suitable accommodation (one less thing to have to think about). Luckily I cam across Goldenfields and it suited my needs perfectly. Pre arrival communication was excellent and on arrival one of the hosts was there personally to greet me, hand over the keys and give me a run through operating general equipment in the apartment such as washing machine, coffee machine etc. The apartment is excellently maintained, in a very quiet block with no noisy neighbours, has ample parking and is only a 15 minute leisurely walk to Kranj old town. For added convenience there is a Lidl, a pizzeria and a Chinese restaurant (I tried - very good) all within a 10 minute walk. It’s spacious, well equipped and basically a walk-in home from home. If I am returning to Kranj again Goldenfields will definitely be top of my list for accommodation.

The hosts are very friendly and always eager to help us and make us feel welcomed in their property. The breakfast was very nice and unique. I would really recommend staying here especially if you want to visit many sides in Slovenia because it is in the middle and you can have access everywhere

This vintage hotel was brimming with history. The owner and her daughter were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was superb, and the lunch was equally delicious, with an impressive price. The room and bathroom were spacious and immaculate. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the old town, offering plenty of options to visit nearby places, including the town itself and the magnificent Brdo Park. Ljubljana and Bled are both easily reachable within 40 minutes. I would gladly return to this hotel, as they take great care of their guests.
