Providing mountain views, Casa do Fundo - Sustainable & Ecotourism in Seia provides accommodation, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar. The country house features both WiFi and private parking free of charge.

Experiencing Casa do Fundo is like experiencing a piece of history in the Serra d’Estrela foothills. Pedro greats you with a warm welcome to his Bed and Breakfast which was first run by his grandparents in this beautifully maintained and restored 120 year old building. The building and it’s out buildings tell the story of the neighborhood if take the time to ask questiones. The beautiful “forno” in the side yard was shared by the neighbors on bread day- but now his bread is delivered fresh with the honk of a horn. Pedro has maintained a lot of the antique furniture and it is a privilege to use it. It appears that he serves the wonderful typical Portuguese breakfast with his grandmothers dishes. Note- this breakfast is typical for the types of foods provided, but atypical for the variety of cheeses, breads, sweets and cereals that he offers. The location is country side, a short drive out of Seia where you are greeted by the sheep that stay nearby at night. If you like to experience the history and culture of Portugal, appreciate beautiful landscaping and a warm personality- choose Pedro’s. If you like cookie cutter lodging and standard food- you need to go somewhere else.

Other facilities are provided, like a children's playground, and laundry facilities. Communal barbecue facilities are also available in this 19-acre property, as well as an outdoor wood burning oven, an outdoor fireplace, a vegetable garden and a picnic area and farm animals.

When only we arrived, I was thinking - "gosh, I have given 10 points on booking for places far less special than this. What should I give them - 12, 20 or what?". It is really a very special, cozy, well-kept and loved place. We were visiting out of season, so it seems ours was the only occupied cottage. Such serenity, peace, fresh air. The territory is spacious, our cottage was so nicely equipped, nicely smelling. Each detail is well planned and taken care of. Breakfast is great, coffee (and coffee machine) is nice. All the people working here - super friendly and warm. We also lit fire in the fireplace each evening - that's so cozy & great. Also there’s a lot of prepared information about the area (where to eat, what to see) in the room. Most of it in EN, which is very practical for someone visiting region for the first time (such as ourselves). It’s one of those places where you want to come back.

Located 4 Km from Seia in the village of Póvoa Velha, Casas de Ribeira is a set of recovered centennial houses. Fully equipped and featuring free WiFi, these typical rustic houses are situated amidst the Serra da Estrela Natural Park.

Communications and guidance was excellent, and in English, the staff were amazing and super friendly. We were in a studio but upon arrival we were upgraded to the house as it was available, and they said because it has more room for you. House was spotless, modern and immaculately kept, we had one of the two bedrooms available. The house was called Ti Manel and had a lovely view over the rest of the guest houses and the hill. We went for a 3 hour hike straight out of the front door along a rabble road and through the hills. The views from the top of the hills was amazing, and as it was spring, flowers were in bloom and the air was lovely scented and fresh. Each morning we were provided fresh bread rolls hanging at the door. We used the typical Portuguese grill to cook steaks. It felt very idyllic! An exceptional place to stay. Seia is only a 9 minute drive away for shopping and dining or strolling and enjoying an icecream.

This was a marvellous place. We went with three kids aged 8-12, and that was good, yet the hotel does value peace and quiet and relaxation. We were warmly welcomed every day, had excellent dinners and food overall, and were happy with price-quality balance. The hotel is also in a great location for hikes and trips to the Serra da Estrela, and overall we had a really great time.

Breakfast was perfect! Mountain views are stunning! Beautiful flora in the authentic village. Staff were very personable and showed the right level of attentiveness. The room had well-functioning facilities and was quiet and comfortable, with its own seats and table just outside. Very good selection of Belgian beers available.

It is what's on the pictures so there is no unpleasant surprises, all clean and comfortable. Enough kitchen and dinning room utensils to use if you are cooking, as we did. I would just say be careful with the stairs outside as it seems that due to the weather seem getting unstable. As we had a 5 months baby we were always afraid of the stairs. Apart thats all great!

The property is a bit up the hill from the small town Seia. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. The house where we stayed was very spacious (we were two people, but it could fit a small family) and quite cosy. You're quite immersed in nature and have some nice hikes to do nearby. The place also has a beautiful restaurant where they offer a tasty, diverse breakfast. The restaurant also serves dinner some days of the week (unfortunately not the days we were there, otherwise we would for sure have eaten there).

Loved the place, the room, the facilities, everything. The indoor pool was extremely nice and the covid-19 precautionary measures were the best I've ever seen. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that everything was just perfect. They were also great with kids.
