The property is built on 4 levels set into the hillside similar to probably 90% of all residential buildings on Madeira. The roof line is set at street level with apartments at levels 4,3 and 2 down from there. Floor 1 at the bottom contains the swimming pool and loungers. I can only account for the apartment on level 2. They may all be different formats. This apartment has 1 very large double bed in the massive main room and 1 quite small single bed in a separate room. It's very well equipped throughout and although I wasn't expecting it a lady cleaned the apartment a couple of times on the week we were there. Outside is a full length private balcony with plenty of space and the best sea view you're likely to find. Sun from rising to setting. All 3 apartments have totally separate front doors. The area is hilly but not unlike everywhere else on the island. Up from the apartment is a street with plenty of bars restaurants and shops, enough for an average length stay. Easy bus access into Funchal if you want to leave the car behind (recommended). Down from the apartment is the coastline and again an easy but hilly walk. Up or down doesn't need the car. In fact you'll probably have more trouble parking than walking. The included car is great just like a standard car hire agreement but no forms and insurance hassle. Just leave a €200 refundable cash deposit. Check the car over and leave the petrol level as you found it. It's outside already and you leave it there at end. Parking no problem. Communication was excellent before during and departure. Paid half up front by bank transfer and the remainder by bank transfer on arrival. Just provide arrival times at the airport and you get a lift from and back to the airport. Overall excellent throughout. Thoroughly recommend. Not forgetting the friendly residential white cat that somehow gets fed.

The owner of the apartment, Natalia, was super kind and supportive. She explained in details how to reach the apartment, enter it, and advised us regarding our stay in Madeira. Natalia is definitely the best landlord I've met. The apartment is excellent with the nice balcony.

- excellent location as a base for visiting the island, 5 minutes from the main highway and still in a very quiet, residential neighborhood - nice view of the ocean (there is a tall building in front of the balcony, but there is still plenty of view field to see the surrounding mountains and the ocean) - the apartment is large, clean and sunny - very thoughtful and valuable complimentary gifts from the owner - all appliances that we needed and many supplies available (soap, detergent, salt, garbage bags, coffee etc) - nearby grocery stores - free parking in private garage - the host was very nice, communicative and helpful

Fabulous spacious villa in a wonderful location. Jan was always welcoming, cheerful and helpful with many tips about local places to visit. The villa was spacious, clean, comfortable, well equipped with good quality furnishings and finishings. Jan has taken great care in renovating the villa so it all feels new and a special treat to stay there for a holiday. The private pool and outdoor areas were perfect to relax in after a day walking in the hills. Supermarkets and restaurants are just a short walk away. We didn’t hire a car but used taxis and buses to get around. There is a bus stop 5 mins walk from the villa with buses into Funchal for 2 euros each way. There is also a taxi rank next to the bus stop. We also used the Bolt app which is like Uber. I would highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely return - we’re already missing waking up to views of the sea each morning. Thanks Jan for a wonderful holiday.

Good location for travel by car, it's not far away from higway. There is a parking space #45 in garage at ground floor. You should agree on arival time and wait in front of garage door #3 in case you have a car. Othervise it's a narrow uphill street and you must to park a car somehow for waiting. Nice view from balcony.
