This place was wonderful. The owner Jim went out of his was to make us welcome and comfortable. There was glitch in our plans and Jim went out of his way to get it fixed fot us. It was raining and we got wet and cold-he brought us a heater.that warmed us up. He could not have been more helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place. 😀

Surrounded by beautiful gardens, Shamrock Lodge Hotel is a family-run hotel located in the very centre of Ireland, just 5 minutes’ walk from the restaurants, bars, and nightlife of Athlone town centre.

The rooms looked just like in the pictures, the beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were nice and clean - only the stone plate on the sink was not good levelled, so the water was always running down on the right-hand side, when washing hands. And a handheld shower would have been nicer than a stationary one. But that really were only minor issues. The rooms had a view over the gardens, which was very nice and quiet. The hotel, the entrance, the breakfast room and the bar were really nice and we really felt comfortable. We can understand, why this hotel is a good venue for wedding celebrations. The hotel even has lifts, so you don't have to carry your luggage up the stairs (not something every hotel has in Ireland) and a vending machine for mineral water and other things. And last but not least the staff was really friendly, helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay there very much and would choose the hotel again when we were in the area.

I've been using the Athlone Springs Hotel for over 10 years now & I can't fault it. I regularly use their meeting room facilities & their accommodation. I've found them to be of the highest standard. From the moment you enter the hotel you'll find all the staff friendly & helpful from the reception desk to the conference staff & the amazing breakfast team. All go above & beyond to make your stay as stress free & comfortable as possible. I've stayed in many hotels throughout Ireland & I would rate the Athlone Springs Hotel as the No.1 for hospitality & service. A special mention to Nicole in conference & events who is an absolute asset to the team & has made all my booking a breeze to organise. Book the Athlone Springs with confidence & you're sure to return again.

Room was exceptional. Bar Food was very good. Perhaps expand breakfast to include some fried potato's that seem to work well in other hotels. Great atmosphere in bar, family friendly and friendly staff. Kids had a ball.

Breakfast was nice.Nice choice of pastries. Nicely arranged! The pizza in the bar/restaurant was really nice. Staff accommodating and polite. Good selection of teas in the room. Loved the bottles of water. There was a playroom with a kids club running which was was surprising with Covid. The children were watching a dvd together in the evening. Would be great with younger children.

Staff could not have been nicer. Everybody was very helpful. Worth requesting a room in the tower for the views over the town. Really impressed with the food in the restaurant. Dinner was beautiful. The pool is very family friendly, there was a baby friendly shower cubicle with a little chair with straps to place a baby in while you shower, I'd never seen that before. Lovely idea.
