The service was top notch. Everyone was helpful and answered any requests we had. We had half board and though previous comments said that the food was not good, I beg to differ. The breakfast was ample with lots of buffet options (hot and cold) as well as the menu (you could order omelets, and other items off the menu). Frappes and Fredo espressos were not problem. The setting at breakfast was beautiful overlooking the pool and ocean. One of the previous comments said that there weren't any Greek offerings at dinner. Being Greek-American, I thought the inclusive dinner options did a great job with an overall selection to appeal to everyone as well as classic Greek and Cretan options. Obviously, if one truly wants a true Cretan dining experience, then I recommend eating off property, but we ate both nights we stayed at the resort, and we all greatly enjoyed. I've been to many all-inclusive hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean and the food and drinks at this establishment were the best we've had. The hotel manager was always present, making rounds ensuring people were enjoying their stay. In fact, our son celebrated his birthday one night and the hotel staff provided a dairy-free cake (he's allergic to dairy) for his bday complete with candles! Lastly, the resort is beautifully and tastefully decorated. I greatly enjoyed walking around, taking in all the sights. The designers did an exceptional job making it feel very Greek island-esque with every nook and cranny having artwork or decorations.

The 2 bedroom flat I rented was on the ground floor. This was perfect for me, since I liked to be part of the normal Cretan life with local people around. I had 2 family members staying with me for a week. The flat was good size for 3 people. I felt I was in the countryside, waking up to sounds such as a rooster etc. Two beaches were near. All appliances that you require are part of room and the room is cleaned frequently. As many hotels in the area they are close to beach but requires some uphill/downhill walking so if you have mobility issues you will need to use a car more frequently. I love the beach that is close by and it has so many nice restaurants in the area. We received great advice up on our arrival. The pool is fantastic but not child friendly as it can go deep very quickly.

Keep in mind there is small path in front of them and they have 2 levels (ground level have good shadow thanks to a terrace but people above you).
