Built in 1874, this Victorian bed and breakfast is surrounded by lush landscaped grounds and 3 blocks of city parks. It features gourmet breakfast and evening wine tastings. The venue is in fact a Victorian house turned bed and breakfast. The renovation work was excellent and the rooms are very comfortable. The gardens are beautiful and it is not unusual to spot a rabbit and birds during the breakfast on the porch. The breakfast by the way is delicious and clearly cooked carefuly for each guest and not mass produced as in ordinary hotels. The staff is extremely cordial and thoughtful. The house itself is within walking distance from attractions such as the Presidio, the old mission building and the courthouse, and also near State street, where you can find trendy shops. In all, it was the best hotel in my California roadtrip from San Francisco to LA.
