The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally situated a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. Everything. Definitely worthy of 5 star status. Excellent service, location and facilities. Will definitely return.

Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 2.5 km from the city centre. Everything was great. Very tasty breakfast. Everyone comes to their own. The service was perfect down to the last detail. Thank you for a perfect time spent in this beautiful hotel.

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. The grounds are expansive and beautiful. We had a lovely ocean view room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pools are lovely. We will return!

Located in the heart of Funchal’s Lido area, this 4-star hotel is a short walk from the city centre and boasts contemporary interiors and an outdoor pool with a terrace. The hotel was close to many restaurants and shops! Very close to the beach…. The pool was nice. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of selections to choose from. My room had a sea view which was a plus! The staff were very helpful and accommodating! Great hotel to stay in!

Located close to Funchal’s city centre, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Meliã Madeira Mare offers free WiFi, an indoor and outdoor pool and a spa. Staffs are very friendly and helpful! Their response to my questions before and during my stay were always quick and helpful. Martin and two ladies at the front desk provided me many good sightseeing suggestions. On my husband"s birthday a fresh chocolate cake was delivered to the room. Breakfast buffet is really good. The day after Christmas we had the delicious buffet dinner with lamb chop and duck entrees. I wish we could have stayed longer to view the new year Eve famous fireworks.

Located in Lido, just a 5-minute walk from the oceanfront promenade in Funchal, the recently refurbished Allegro Madeira offers 2 restaurants, an outdoor pool, 360º rooftop bar, spa and fitness... The breakfast was substantial and well organised. The property in general was exceptionally clean - probably the cleanest hotel I have every stayed in. Modern rooms, friendly staff, great views from the rooftop bar. Hotel prices were very reasonable and I really enjoyed my stay. There was a little road noise, but I guess that's to be expected when being so centrally located to the city. Bus stops right outside the hotel to town very regular as well as a taxi rank close by. City Sightseeing tour bus also right outside. Plenty of shops within walking distance. Really convenient location. Hotel provides hairdryer, in room fridge, sewing kit, toothbrush & paste, shampoo and conditioner all provided. Such a lovely touch and was very pleasantly surprised. Thoroughly recommend to stay at this hotel.
