The facilities were amazing as the view of the pool is spectacular. They have a full-size gym including additional equipment. The rooms were big, clean and beautiful to stay in. Thank you so much!

It is more like a home-stay, i.e. it is actually a gated house with many rooms and all essential facilities. This means you feel more relaxed and safe than at a hotel/motel. There is a shared kitchen, and shared toilets, all clean and well maintained. John is an excellent host. He is friendly, and always available. The property is located very conveniently, in a nice neighborhood, with restaurants, supermarkets, coffee shops, etc., around. The added part is the rescue dog, Goya (that's what I guess John was calling him), who wants to be your friend and play with you. There is even a pool, which I didn't get time to use. There is coffee and tea in the kitchen. I found the place very homely and welcoming.

I felt very welcome and comfortable during my stay, the place is clean and enjoyable. I loved the pool table and playing with other guests. The best of Areka however, is definitely their staff, those guys are amazing, super friendly, helpful and they genuinely care for their guests. I am very happy I found this hostal and plan to stay there every time I go to Panama city.
