Along the Kiyotakigawa River, Momojiya Annex offers traditional rooms with a private open-air bath and forest views. It features public baths and free wired internet in public areas. Such beautiful surroundings in nature. The property itself and the stunning scenery around it with great hikes and temples. The attention to detail by the Staff, the feeling of a truly authentic Ryokan experience was excellent. In more ways than I could ever express, this stay exceeded our expectations.

Takao Kanko Hotel ligger 600 meter fra Jingo-ji-tempelet, og har offentlige, varme bad og rom i japansk stil med utsikt over elven og eget bad. Du kan få tradisjonelle måltider servert på rommet ditt.... It is a beautiful location, easily reached by bus and an easy walk. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food is excellent. The walking around the hotel is lovely. The riverside patio is gorgeous. The hotel provided a free shuttle at the end of our stay. We loved everything about this experience.

A 10-minute drive from Kinkaku-ji Temple, Ryokan Yamazaki offers a hot public bath and serves breakfast and traditional dinners for an additional fee. I was traveling together with a friend and she preferred to book a place a bit outside of the city. The place is still very accessible by bus (stop is almost in front of the house), or even the tram if (you don’t mind a 15 minutes walk). The staff was very kind and welcoming and you will easily get along with English, if you don’t speak Japanese. The rooms were tidy and comfortable and would also recommend to take the Japanese breakfast in the house. Cannot judge the dinner since we usually returned late and ate somewhere else. Highly recommend the ryokan!
