If I could give it 6 stars I would. we had a great room overlooking the river and cherry blossom (remember to boom a river view room, it’s worth it). service was outstanding and staff directed us to near by and distant restaurants and helped with booking when there was language barriers. Free excellent cold beer at the lobby. room was clean and lots of amenities including a Nespressp machine which was critical when waking up.

This boutique is located by the River. Our suite had a clear view over local shrines and the river delta. Imperial Palace is 5min walking distance. Shimogamo Shrine, a 10 minute walk. Concierge booked a three day tour guide for us who took great care of us. We booked last minute and could not get good restaurant or guide reservations. Rio took care of everything. Lovely property, manager showed us other suites too, spacious and home feeling.

Just a 5-minute walk from Daitokuji Temple, Guesthouse Bon offers convenience in air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms with no curfew. Great place to stay to feel at home and meet people. Taniguchi-san is an dream of a host. Loved the old-world feeling of the place and appreciated how everything was so well though out for our comfort. Highly recommend!

What I like about the property: •The place is very clean. •The host explained how to use appliances and how to go around the area •The wifi is strong •All the facilities are very good, well maintained •Very close to the bus stations and some convenience stores •I would recommend this place to everyone •Also, the host pick us up and drop us off the station it was very nice of him •We rented a bike, which is a good decision because of the experience ♥️ •Thank you again for hosting our stay in Kyoto. It was very lovely. The best place we had in Japan.

The owner, Mamoru-san was extremely helpful. I had a health complications on our last day and he even took me to the clinic. He gives you a tablet that has all house appliance manuals and many sites of interest around Kyoto, including good restaurants and his recommended places and restaurants. I stayed in 4 places in Japan and this one was the best, by far. Extremely recommended, especially if you're looking for that old style Japanese house experience.
