It is difficult to describe all the expierences about visiting a single place in one opinion. Nevertheless, if you are lazy and looking for a simple answer - then yes, I recommend this place. This hotel is run by a wonderful family. They are super nice and helpful to every guest. It's quite cute to watch how next generations run the same place :) The location is great, getting to the port city of Ischia takes a bit of time but is within reach of any taxi or a long walk. In our opinion, Casamiccola is as nice as the other towns on the island, so there is no real need to walk further. The restaurant in the hotel is not the cheapest, but taking into account the size of the portions and the quality of the food, it is not a problem at all. Arguments that the service is unpleasant do not hit us at all. Everyone was always smiling and ready to help. Problems with sometimes poor knowledge of English were not a barrier. Everyone else can have a bad day, especially when it's 35-40 degrees. We highly recommend this place - The owners, Roberta, Lucia or Valerio, have always helped us when needed :) With great pleasure we will come back here both with friends and our children - see you soon! P.S. The only thing we missed a bit was music - play it all day long, regardless of the genre, it will definitely make your stay more pleasant.

One of our favourite hotels we’ve stayed at, this was our second time coming back. Rooms are basic, but everything else - views, food, staff, plant decoration etc are just amazing. Good location, walkable downhill to Casamiccola and Lacco Ameno villages on the shore, both bigger towns Ischia and Forio are just a short ride away.

Overlooking lush vegetation and the Tyrrhenian Sea, Hotel & Residence Matarese is 500 metres from the beach and port in Casamicciola Terme. A family owned hotel. Impeccably maintained with beautiful gardens and loads of fruit trees that are immaculately cared for. Mariana welcomed us with such warmth and was extremely helpful. Mariana went far and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and very helpful with any reservations we needed or questions we had. Francesca her sister is the chef at the hotel and will definitely treat you with delicious homemade meals that will surely tantalize your taste buds. Let's not forget their mom and dad who keep the garden grounds breath taking with beautiful flowers and fruit trees. Honestly, if we can rate this hotel and our experience a 12 on 10 we most definitely would. They made us feel like part of their family. Sono tornata quasi un mese fa, ma l'anima è ancora in questo posto paradisiaco e ho intenzione di venire di nuovo qui. L'hotel offre una vista mozzafiato su Casamicciola e sul mare. Silenzio, comodità e pulizia, il personale sorprendentemente cordiale è ciò che distingue questo hotel.
