Set in an 11th-century castle the Clontarf Hotel combines ancient architecture with 21st-century facilities. Was a beautiful hotel. Would gladly stay again, staff were absolutely spot on. Very helpful and welcoming. The room itself was amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer. Was also in a great position. We had dinner in the restaurant and drinks at the bar which was also a great experience.

The place is situated in a lovely neighborhood, a bit far from the centre of Dublin, but there are plenty of buses and trains you can catch to get there quickly. I suggest you to get a Visitor Leap Card in order to save time and money! The neighborhood is also extremely quiet at any time of the day and it felt very safe even late at night. The host is very kind and patient, she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and she also gave us many useful tips and recommendations. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We shared the bathroom with a permanent guest but we've never actually met him and he kept everything spotless so it felt like we weren't actually sharing anything. Highly recommended!
