Boutique hotel 1898 The Post offers accommodation in an iconic, historical building in the heart of Ghent. It is situated in the former post office. This hotel feels like a place out of a Harry Potter movie. It's located in a chateau-like historical building. The building is so impressive that tourists are taking photos in front of it all the time. The corridors, lobbies and rooms are full of antique items like books, magnifying glasses, crystal balls, leather journals, old letters, whiskeys and all kinds of liquors. I was surprised to find such historic items all over the hotel, wondering how they kept them secure. The barroom feels like a magical place where you wouldn't mind spending your evenings. I almost don't want to write this review for fear of too many tourists visiting this hotel and that I wouldn't find a room next time.

This luxurious family-run hotel in the Patershol District of Ghent offers rooms in 2 historic buildings and benefits from a free heated swimming pool. The location of the room was great and the view from our window was breathtaking! The cleanliness of our room was excellent. The staff was always there to help us!
