It is really a jewel, with very nice local people, food and of course historical sites.
If you have time go also to see local markets as the caravan and the kolkhoz full just of locals. As a restaurant I suggest Old Bukhara and the filled eggplants and the Armenian appetiser

Nice city.
Nice city. Comparing to Samarkand Bukhara is smaller and main sightseeing spot are concentrated in the old city center so it's easy to see everything in 1-2 days. I would recommend to hire local guide and just relax walking via old Bukhara streets.

It was a unique experience & was like to set foot into the history of Central Asia. Several centuries of South Asia’s history starts from Bukhara, Samarkand & Tashkent. So, obviously this trip into the past was very exciting! Every building, monument in the city reminded us of their past glory & the great Mughals! From Chengis Khan, to Amir Taimur, Iban Batuta et all had set foot on this holy land. The city should get more prominence amongst the historians & tourists alike! Being nearest to India with 1.4 billion population & it’s really cheap value for money accommodation & delicious food will attract hoards of visitors. But before that more flight options & more English speaking young Uzbeks are the real necessity! We would love to travel many more times in the future. Long live Uzbeks! Long live Uzbekistan!

The old city is fabulous despite a lot of straight face tourists and despite the Coca Pepsi everywhere. Uzbekistan make a very bad deal with the capitalists. Most of the cars are Chevrolet. North American are changing the habits of the Uzbeks as well o many countries around the world. Yankees go home. Yankees go to hell
This hotel is conveniently located at the border of the old city. No problem arriving by car, which is good when carrying luggage. Old town is within a very easy walking distance. The hotel itself has been constructed based on an old courtyard concept, fitting very well with the surrounding old town, and with high quality materials and convenience. The hotel received an award for best design (or something similar, did not pay too much attention) in Uzbekistan, which is completely deserved. Very nice. The staff is also very good and caring.
Very nice hotel with very pleasant patio where you can relax at Western-style tables or on oriental cushions. Well equipped, stylish rooms with comfortable bath, although bedroom a bit small due to the limitations of the madrasah (which is largely rebuilt and not original). Very good breakfast which you could take in the garden/patio. The staff organized also a car with driver to continue our travel to Khiva. Probably the best hotel (actually, bed and breakfast, no restaurant) on our travel to Uzbekistan.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay in Al Hayat. New hotel, beautifully designed with traditional Bukhara style. The hotel's heating system is very good, especially the bathroom floor heating system that always keeps guests warm. The hotel staffs were warm, hospitable and helpful, especially Azim, who even walked to a restaurant of our choice to make a dinner reservation for us after being unreachable with their phone number. If we return to Bukhara, we will definitely stay at Al Hayat again.
The hotel is the best you can get in Bukhara. It is next to Labi Haus and on walking distance to all places to visit. The atmosphere is amazing- a real caravanserai, kept authentic and cozy. There is ATM, restaurants, taxi stop and cafes close to it. The personnel are very friendly and welcoming people. We had to check out before breakfast and they prepared us boxes with food to eat on the go. Highly recommend it and will definitely book it again if I visit Bukhara.
The hotel is a very nice building of late XIX century with beautiful decorations.
Both the room and the bathroom were spacious and clean and the staff comes every day to clean the room and replace the dirty towels (which doesn't always happen in Uzbekistan).
Delicious buffet breakfast served at the restaurant with a great variety of food.
The position of the hotel is excellent too, just few minutes walking distance from the wonderful historical centre of Bukhara.
The hotel decors is charming both traditional and elegant, the location is very good, 5 mins to Chor Minors, 15 min to Labi Hauz, all the attractions are in working distance. The breakfast restaurant is spacious, good choice of food if you come up at 8:00, but we came up at 9:00 the next day, not much food left, they do not refill except 2 fired eggs for us ( breakfast serves 8:00-10:00), the room is clean when we check in. Hotel staff is helpful generally.
We finally stayed a week in rumi guesthouse and even booked a tour in Nurata mountains with them.
Breakfast was really nice and the family that runs the place is really sweet (especially baby Daniel 🤗🤗🤗)
The sister and brother speaks French which can be really nice when you need informations or just to have conversations when you want to learn more about Bukhara and Uzbekistan.
We also met great people in this guesthouse and felt like home.
The hotel staff was very friendly, although the daytime receptionists could not speak English. That problem was solvable with a translation app though. The location of the hotel is pretty good, on the edge of the old city, and quite close to my favorite restaurant in the city, Chalet Bukhara, where I had five quite tasty meals in my four days in Bukhara. The room itself was cozy and quiet, so good for sleeping.
The staff was supernice and very helpful, the breakfast truly delicious and bountiful. The room was spacious and comfortable (although, as everywhere in Uzbekistan, you should not expect a functional window). The hotel is one step removed from the central square of the Old Town, 10-15 minutes walk to Minorai Kalon and the Ark citadel, so very convenient to return after a day's tour.
Brand new hotel in Bukhara with friendly and professional service. Some rooms are very small, especially twin rooms, so check room upon check-in. Top-floor (8th) breakfast buffet restaurant was very well equipped and had a huge buffet service. The pool - both outdoor and indoor - are spectacular, well maintained and with clean and fresh water, also not too busy.
Large comfortable rooms
Cleanliness
Quietness
Location is impossible to beat. The hotel is right in the center of the old city.
Exceptional staff. We traveled as a group of four and all of us are vegans. It's hard to find good vegan food in Buhara, but the restaurant staff offered us to prepare special meals for us.
"I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. The location was convenient and the atmosphere was relaxing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay."
Beautiful historic hotel with all the modern comforts. The breakfast is excellent and the best food we have eaten in Uzbekistan. The staff were very helpful in assisting with onward travel bookings. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
I honestly like the design of the hotel. Very comtemporary and modern touch specially for the interior. Once you get into the hotel, you are disconnected from the whole neighborhood. The breakfast was very good, and the restaurant as well.
WE LOVED EVERYTHING
Sabina and her family are the best hosts you could ever have.
They are our best experience in Uzbekistan !
The hotel is super clean, warm and in the perfect location.
The best place we stayed in the whole country.
Very good location of the hotel. Easy walk to the main attractions of the city. Close to the pub with craft beer. Hosts are nice. Breakfast were really delicious and quite big, bigger than elsewhere in Uzbekistan :)
The location is perfect, 2mins walking distance to main places. The room is very clean and spacious. One of the best breakfast i had in Uzbekistan. I would recommend this hotel when you come to Uzbekistan
We loved it here! The room was very comfortable and clean. The hosts were super nice, very welcoming and helpful with our questions. The breakfast was one of the best ones we had in Uzbekistan, so tasty!
Very good value as breakfast was included, and not too far of a walk to the main sites. Lots of top shelf hotels nearby only this hotel is just off the main drag.
