The room was immaculate, its furnishings were all comfortable, the shower was hot and powerful, the tv was large with plenty of stations, and the view from the beachfront room was amazing. And all of that came with an excellent price, providing a superb value.
Even better, the folks there were wonderful. On check-in, the host (whose name I didn’t see) was both friendly and efficient, making the process quick and easy. And the next morning, Savannah at the front desk took plenty of time to share recommendations on things to see and do in the area, actually mapping a path for me to explore, the result of which was an amazing day of sight-seeing. Simply put, she went far beyond the norm for my expectations.
The hotel isn’t brand new, so that should be understood for those seeking only the newest. And the breakfast room was a bit tight, but also kept clean and well-stocked. Overall, though, it’s aging quite well, with a staff that makes it even more impressive.
Sugar Beach Resort features a private beach, the pool and hot tub will be closed April 21 reopening 26 at 4pm, and a complimentary breakfast. Guest rooms offer beach or courtyard views.

We booked day passes for Great Wolf Lodge and stayed at Fairfield Inn and Suits. It was close to many different food options, shopping and gas stations. Also, nearby was a Sam's Club, Burlington, and Five Below, just to name a few.

We were a large group a families (10 rooms) in TC for a youth sports tournament in mid-February and Sugar Beach was perfect for our needs:
- Indoor pool is a good size, and they had plenty of towels
- Younger siblings liked the small arcade
- Small fridge in room was helpful
- Nice breakfast options... like the hotel, not super fancy... but good variety of options and good quality
- Morning run on the beach was great... quiet stretch of the beach
- Dairy Queen across the street was handy... and in the summer, proximity to Pirate's Cove (large large mini golf and other activities in warmer weather) across the street would be great.
- The staff was amazing... very helpful and patient with our young families. Paris in particular was AWESOME to work with... thanks so much Paris!
To be clear, like nearly all the hotels up in TC and especially those on the beach -- it is an older hotel and not high end luxury or anything... but for being directly on the beach and for other considerations listed above we highly recommend it.

Traverse City is beautiful. I always enjoy my stay.
Traverse City is beautiful. I always enjoy my stay. They have lots of lovely restaurants. My favorite breakfast spot is The Cottage and we’ve enjoyed dinner at Poppycocks, Sorellina, and Harrington’s. However, we always have a hard time finding late night food. The Traverse City Comedy Club was fun and the shows are inexpensive. I find it to be a very relaxing trip and we will definitely go back.

I was there because my father was in the hospital. While he was having surgery or sleeping I went around the town… so many cool bar, restaurants, cool coffee bars, shopping… we are going back in the summer for a get away weekend! I loved it!

Traverse City is a beautiful little northern Michigan town.
Traverse City is a beautiful little northern Michigan town. There are many great places to eat (our favorite was Mama Lu's, and we enjoyed 'date night' Wednesday at Poppycock's). There are many great shops along Front Street and plentiful parking. In addition, there are parks and lighthouses in the vicinity for variety. We traveled to TC during the winter holidays, but would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the hiking trails and to thoroughly enjoy the beachers and water. People were very friendly. TC is on the expensive side, but nothing too much more expensive than any other little town or resort site in Michigan. There is a lot of focus on drinking (wineries, breweries), but there is so much more to do than that. If you do drink, however, you would find doing a winery tour a lot of fun.

Traverse City offers many wonderful views, restaurants and shops. I think it offers something for everyone. The view over the bay changes every season so it is worth extra visits to take advantage of the lovely scenery.
The location was very good for travel to the
peninsula for wine tasting. It was not far from downtown Traverse City but certainly not within walking distance. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was certainly above average. The pool was excellent and even had an accessibility chair to enable people with disabilities to enter the pool. The whirlpool was nice after a long day of walking. I would stay here again.
Clean and comfortable hotel with a beautiful private beach. The rooms appeared to be newly remodeled. Hotel staff was very friendly. We were very pleasantly surprised! The hotel is just removed enough from the main area of downtown to feel like an escape, while still near restaurants and the airport. Just a 20 min drive up the peninsula to multiple wineries!
Nicely updated older hotel. Staff was very pleasant and welcoming. As it was limited to individually wrapped items (due to COVID-19 pandemic), we did not try the breakfast. Hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive into downtown Traverse City. Great value and priced much lower than comparible accomodations. Would definitely stay at Seasons Inn again.
This is one of the best hotels in Traverse City area and certainly location is excellent at the base of the Grand Traverse west Bay. The room was well laid out and nicely decorated. Room location was also excellent with the outdoor heated pool view! It was a unique watching the steam rise above the pool in the cool winter evening
The breakfast at Bayshore was nice. They had many grab and go items as well as hot items such as waffles, scrambled eggs, omelets and sausage. The breakfast area is large and very clean.
We always stay at Bayshore every time we go to Traverse City. It is a nice hotel and we always have a good experience.
It is a value hotel. Very clean and the front desk clerk was nice. Breakfast is very minimal. I generally grab a bagel and fruit for later but really only had cereal and very small muffins, coffee and juice. The location is great. We didn’t use the pool and jacuzzi this time but that is fine, too.
Room and beds were comfortable and clean. Property was an easy, quick drive to downtown areas and there is food shopping nearby and a nice locally owned restaurant next door. Staff was friendly and helpful and I would stay again if ever back in town.
Staff was attentive and very friendly. Location on the beach was nice, close to downtown also. Towel service for beach is handy. Bed was very comfortable. Room darkening shades are great.
Location in Traverse City.
Great size room. Enjoyed use of microwave, fridge and liked having an extra sink.
Comfortable bed.
Breakfast was simple but met our needs.
The hotel offered a free ride to the historical downtown area along with a pickup when we were ready. We had a sink in our room which made making a salad easier
The location was near downtown Traverse City. Room service was good. The response by staff was amazing and they compensated us for lack of cleanliness.
