The grounds itself is so quaint and beautiful, especially with the potted colorful flowers throughout the property. I also liked that the room was a decent size and it had a microwave and refrigerator and FIREPLACE, as well as a small table with two chairs. I was also impressed the shower was not plastic - the walls of the shower seemed to be huge marble slabs, which was a very nice touch.

Everything about the inn feels thoughtful and cozy, from the books in the library to the carefully-curated antiques in each room. It truly feels like you’ve stepped back in time to the pinnacle of the Victorian era. The staff is lovely and welcoming, and there are few things like spotting a dolphin or two in the bay as you enjoy a hot breakfast.

It was close to the pier and there were many places near by to visit
We loved Pacific Grove. The downtown is charming, the two restaurants we ate in were very good, Toasties and the Monarch Pub and Restaurant. The rocky coast is gorgeous with walking trails along it that go for miles.
It was very easy to get around.

Awesome ocean views (especially at sunset!), great natural history museum, delicious seafood. Lovely, walkable town (love the info on the old houses saying when they were built, and who the original owner was.) Kayaking, snorkeling, bicycling, golf, butterfly viewing all easily accessible and enjoyable almost year round.
Car is recommended, although to be fair I've never tried the public transportation system.

I love all the different types of shops the downtown has to offer. There are also excellent restaurants & little spots for coffee or tea. I love that it's near the seaside & some forest areas to explore. Downtown Monterey is just a very few minutes away. It's all a very relaxing part of the world.

Pacific Grove is a beautiful coastal town with many things to do and see. Just enough of what is needed is nearby but not overdone like a gas station on every corner, etc. The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is an amazing experience if you visit during the monarch migration season. Thousands of monarch butterflies to see. The beaches are stunning along the coastline and Monterey is just a stones throw away which offers more adventures. You really can't go wrong with this idyllic place.

One of our favorite places to visit.
One of our favorite places to visit. Pacific Grove has a real small town feel, but has wonderful restaurants (Red House Cafe, Bookworks Coffee) and the walking trail along the ocean is one of my favorite things to do. It is also close to other amazing places like Point Lobos, Big Sur and Pinnacles National Park. Try renting an E-bike and riding the stunning 17 Mile Drive from Pacific Grove to Carmel and back.

From our motel it was a short distance (walkable for young legs) to the ocean and the butterfly grove. There are great restaurants in Pacific Grove and nearby. Red House Cafe, Beach House (Lover's Point), Fishwife Restaurant are the ones we enjoyed. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Drive carefully, deer roam all around town night and day.
I loved our room! I loved the body wash, and shampoo conditioner dispenser. The room was so well equipped that we didn't need to call for room service. The bed was extra comfy and we had a wonderful view of the pool area. The staff was really friendly at both check in and check out. The hotels location is also a plus. A short walk to the beach, across the street from an awesome restaurant Lucy's! (Great ice cream and mermaid mimosa). The entire facility was well kept clean and a short drive from downtown Pacific Grove.
Our room was huge, 350 square feet! It had a large window with a lovely view of a grassy area with a few spectacular Monterey Cypress trees. The location was fantastic. We were a five minute drive to downtown Pacific Grove, restaurants and shops, and five minutes to the spectacular coast.
The property itself is incredibly dog friendly, with the above mentioned grassy area right out our front door.
The property felt very peaceful and comfortable! There were many places to sit and relax and take in the sights and sound of Pacific Grove. And for anyone with fur babies, this place is amazing! We didn’t bring a dog on our stay, but we saw plenty of dogs on property along with a open space for dogs to run around and play with toys located in a bin on property.
Comfy beds, amazing breakfast (the ladies working the kitchen were very nice too!). Shared areas were clean and relaxing and the garden was really nice for coffee or a break after exploring for the day. St. Angela is walking distance to almost everything in Pacific Grove and downtown Monterey so you can't go wrong with the location!
The hotel was good value for money and we had a good night there. It's quite expensive to stay around Carmel, so this place offered good rate for what it is. As some reviews say, it's dated with a few 'maintenance' issues. However the staff was very nice and beds are comfy. All we needed for a one night stay.
Incredible location right on the coastline in Pacific Grove. We could see sea otters among the rocks below the hotel and whale spouts further out in the bay. The decor was charming and our room had wonderful fireplace, sitting area, and king size bed. We could see the Pacific without getting out of bed.
Nice little hotel very near to the ocean and the sunset execept it is foggy. Small cabins with possibility to sit in the garden. And in the morning nice and simple breakfast/Self service. I love that place more than Monterey. When ever I come back to that region I will book it again.
A really old fashioned and charming hotel. Good off road parking and very pleasant and welcoming staff. Lovely dining room offering breakfast with sea views. Nice well kept garden area and lovely old fashioned walnut room which was dated but comfortable.
Great location with free parking on the street/at the hotel. Very cosy feeling, room was inviting with a great view towards the bay. Breakfast room was great, too. Great variety of breakfast items. Great place to slow down and just enjoy being.
Really good hotel in Pacific Grove, close to the beach and to Lighthouse Ave (Pacific Grove's main avenue). The hotel is located in a very quiet location which is great and the staff is pretty friendly. The hot tub outside works just fine.
Great hotel. Attractive decor. Comfortable. Lovely bedroom. Nice public areas. Delicious breakfast and other treats. Enjoyed cheese and wine.
Great location.
Some of the other guests were wonderfully friendly, enhancing our stay.
The location was excellent! Walking distance to Butterfly Grove, Los Pinos Lighthouse and Asilomar. We also walked into PG for breakfast and enjoyed the beautiful side streets. The room was very clean and staff very helpful.
Good price, friendly staff, good breakfast, really large room with fireplace, nice quiet location, close to beautiful walking path on Monterey Bay, close to many good restaurants in Pacific Grove, close to Monterey and Carmel.
Great location of the hotel. Great territory and most importantly it was quiet. Close to ocean, restopans and other attractions. Large room. Clean and comfortable.
