We enjoyed our time in Oceanside and plan to go back. The main drag has so many spots for eating and drinking. We had some amazing meals. Loved the beach area and walking along the boulevard. Very dog friendly. Beautiful sunsets and perfect weather during the day. Just a bit chilly at night. Restaurants we recommend. Local Taphouse. Delicious brunch. The deviled eggs are amazing. Wonderful cocktails. Stone Brewing is also fabulous. Huge outdoor area. Great selection of beers. Yummy food. Need to go back to try more of the beer and food. Enjoyed the beer flight. 4 pours. Oceanside is a great destination if you want to stay by the water. The place is safe and walkable to the Pier and restaurants. Shopping is a few miles away. We also went to an oyster farm in Carlsbad which was nice. I highly recommend Oceanside, we can't wait to stay in the area again.

It just seems to have gotten more touristy, with a lot of people with zero etiquette. Lots of options for sure, many a lot more commercial than last time we were there a couple years ago. Everything (except bed) was dirty: sticky floor, old leaking refrigerator, old worn/torn furniture with stains, strong moldy smell. Shower: dirty, hole in the floor, sink was loose with water draining slowly. Scary place...
