A wonderful non-touristy insight into the Hawaii Islands.
A wonderful non-touristy insight into the Hawaii Islands. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Enjoyed it very much. There are one or two big "resorts" on the island but at the far end so they don't seem to impact the experience of Kaunakakai.
The island vistas are amazing, the scuba diving on the reef was good. Interesting Island history to learn.
Just bring closed toes shoes if you want to do any hiking. We didn't think to due to the flight weight restrictions (and didn't want to check bags) and missed out on seeing some of the sites that you hike to.

Quiet town with a couple wonderful food options.
Quiet town with a couple wonderful food options. Molokai PIzza Cafe and Molokai Burger. Sadly, my favorite cafe closed in Kualapu'u likely due to the lock down preventing visitors from flying into the island Took an amazing drive to the east side of the island. Not many visitors at the moment made for a very nice drive without traffic.

Our visit was very brief.. just 2 nights, but our stay at the Hotel Molokai was wonderful! The staff was warm and knowledgeable and the restaurant overlooking the water was five star! We did not rent a car since our stay was so brief, but the on-site shuttle driver was very accommodating and took us to a few local places of interest. Next visit will definitely be longer and include a car to explore more of the island. Be sure to visit the park overlook of the leper colony!

Favorite spot was the bread factory.
Favorite spot was the bread factory. It is a Must to try you will not be disappointed. Don't go to Molokai unless you are ready to just relax. The Purdy' s Natural Macadamia Nut Farm was a wealth of knowledge. Enjoyed it very much. Take the time to go East to see the water falls, it is just a nice interesting drive. Almost like the "road to hana" on Maui. I'd go back again!
The room is equipped with air conditioning. WiFi is free. The entire complex is very well maintained and clean. There are many palm trees and flowers in the garden. There are hammocks available. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the nearest town and 5 minutes in the other direction to a beautiful sandy beach.
The Restaurant for Dinner is an excellent one.
Nicely furnished condo that is equipped with everything you might need during your stay. Lots of information about the island is provided in a binder put together by the owners. Great communication with the owner. The apartment is walking distance from town as well as the Hotel Molokai, which has a nice restaurant with live music nightly.
Fantastic location - right on the water and very convenient to Kaunakakai (the largest town on the island with most of the restaurants and shops). Beautiful amenities and well-maintained facilities, and our room had a full kitchen! Gorgeous views of Lana'i Island across the channel.
A perfect location to experience Molokai to its fullest extent. The Shores beach pool and grounds were very well maintained. From our second story lanai we could see whales out in the water.
SO COOL.
Sunrise and sunsets were to die for.
Great central location for what I wanted. Close to downtown & allowed me to explore Molokai easily. West end is great for swimming & basking in the sun, but then everything is a long drive, so happy to be able to be “local” in Kaunakakai.
Very cosy community areas to relax. Wonderful view from the pool area and very nice feeling on the whole complex.
It was easy to get to the Hotel with a rental car and to move around the island.
Very comfortable bed!
The location and grounds were lovely. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed Molokai and liked the ambience of the old motel from the 70’s
I loved the calm atmosphere, the friendly staff and that they have Molokai Outdoors at the hotel itself. This made my whole stay very easy to organise.
