We really loved this cabin, it was comfortable and spacious in a beautiful area. It’s approximately an hour driving to and from Yosemite valley along the Merced river which is a very pretty drive. It was really nice to get back here and relax after a day of hiking.

For first time visitors to the area we did not have any idea of the distances involved or the facilities in the area so we took a gamble on the property. The Yosemite Bug resort is well located for a property outside of the park (around 30 min or so from Yosemite Valley from memory). It's also one of the better priced properties as it can get pretty pricey, especially with the AUD/US conversion. There is decent food available at the restaurant too. Breakfasts were Ok, dinner was pretty good, although the popular options sold out quickly. They did packed lunches too although we thought they were a bit pricey and you can buy food in the valley, which was not as expensive as we imagined it might be for such a popular place.

The hotel is only about a 4 minute drive from the park entrance which is great! Also has a shop on site, plus a shop with a petrol station just down the road. Although we didn’t think we’d use the pools, whilst we were there is was really hot so we were very thankful for an afternoon dip to cool down. Rooms were very spacious and the kitchenette/fridge was very useful.
