Good for budget and not too far away from the beach a few minutes walk. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style, pick and choose what you like (basics - warm cruesants, cheese, sausages, eggs, vegetables, and jogurt.) The room had a bath (you can find bath salts in the nearby shops) just let the water flow for a bit before making the bath. Secured private parking place in the backyard.

We really liked the historic part of town - the Ribat is beautiful (with a great guide!). The archaeology museum is definitely worth a visit. The souk was an enjoyable pace and you didn't feel hassled. The restaurants were good. Taxis were cheap and easy to find.
City could do with a big clean up and shows clear signs of suffering financially, but that didn't take away from our trip.

I found Sousse to be a great place to visit if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. I was pleased to discover that the local people were friendly and welcoming, which made my trip more enjoyable and memorable.
One of the highlights of my trip was having a hire car, which allowed me to explore the surrounding areas and discover hidden gems such as the castle. It was fascinating to learn that the castle was the location for the popular movie Monty Python's Life of Brian. This made my trip even more exciting and memorable.
However, it's worth noting that if you're looking for a bustling city with lots of activities to do and places to see, Sousse may not be the best choice. From my experience, Sousse is more of a laid-back destination where you can unwind and relax.
Overall, I had a positive experience visiting Sousse and enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas. Thank you for taking the time to read my review!

The area is beautiful.
The area is beautiful. There are so many activities to do there. The transportation system is excellent and very affordable. You can walk almost everywhere really, but if you are lazy like me, you can either use your phone to order a Bolt taxi or just flag one down on the road.

I used Sousse as a base to travel to other parts of Tunisia by train and car. If you wanted a beach / resort hotel to just chill then this would be an excellent choice. If you wanted more exploration of the history and culture then Sousse is a little limited and I think would "do" all the local things in 2/3 days.

Sousse has a lot of history for a not so big town, walks around the winding streets medina is a real pleasure, forget the main way, try following the walls enclaves where people live and go shopping. There are ateliers shops there and you can see what their projects are. Visit the archeological museum, it is housed in a nice building and has a few interesting treasures. Walk on the beach, it is very relaxing.
It was a pleasure staying at Dar Hkaiem! The host, Toutou, is very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the area and very keen on showing local towns to visitors. Dar Hkaiem provides many tours in surrounding areas and car services at very affordable prices. And don't forget to try the delicious, traditional Tunisian breakfast options they serve! Overall, this was a lovely authentic stay managed by a hospitable and trustworthy host who was very accommodating to all my travel needs. Thanks for a great experience :)
I'd like a lot that is very near to the train station like 2 minutes walking, near to the Medina like 3 minutes walking, and about 7 minutes to the public beach.
The room is clean 🫧, but to the reception was writed that the water stops in all Tunisia between 00-07.00.
Also a plus is the fact that the bed 🛏️ lingerie was white and clean.
You have to ask for toilet paper to the reception, because they don't put it, because they don't clean 🧹 the room day by day.
The hotel area has lots of restaurants near.
The residence is in the heart of the city of Sousse, just walking distance from the beach, the theater, the main public transport hub of the city, restaurants, bars, nightclubs...etc
It's in a secure location, have a 24/7 security and housekeeping... the room was clean, with a heater and an air conditioner, a balcony and a satellite TV.
Staff were helpful and professional offering a great service. Recommended for a budget travelers.
Hotel is really nice and we got a room from higher floors with sea view. Room was newly renovated with light colors and new furnitures. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed under Ramadan so it was pretty quiet in Sousse and in the hotel. Breakfast was good and you had multiple options to choose between. The location is great, you are close to the town and beautiful beach. Beautiful pool area.
The food was excellent, although busy there was no shortage and meal times spaced out so everyone has enough. Animation especially for the kids was great, bar staff were lovely as were all the staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I live in Tunisia (although I’m English) I was recovering from broken ribs and stayed here with my children so I could rest. I will definitely be returning.
Literally everything ! nothing to complain about !
The best hotel I have visited in Tunisia so far, the stuff is incredibly nice and very polite and helpful !
the food was also the highlight of the stay!
the quality is beyond great!
rooms were clean and very comfortable !
the pool is sea water pool , very relaxing and clean!
I highly recommande the hotel, and certainly coming back next summer!
Very kind staff but rooms could be cleaner. Ask for a room on the non-smoking floor if you don’t want your room to stink of sigarettes. The hotel is located in quite a busy area so I did have some noise issues at night. There is one hotel next door that has a club where they party until 2/3am almost every night so if you’re looking for peace and quiet this is unfortunately not the best place.
I stayed at every all inclusive resort in Sousse. This is by far the best and the only one that should be 5 star. There were two other all inclusive resorts in Sousse, I won’t mention any names. The quality here is way better. (service, food, rooms, views). it’s legit. the other places weren’t. Stay here.
The architecture of the property is out of this world. genuinely so beautiful.
The food was also very nice (we only had breakfast included). Some very traditional Tunisian dishes served every day along with some basics.
The staff all treat you like royalty. no task is too small for them.
All the staff is really kind and friendly, discrete at the same time. The hotel is very quiet, with an enjoyable outside patio/terrasse. Room very clean and quiet. Really well located in the centre and at entrance of the medina.
I always stay in this hotel during my visit to Tunisia. It is a nice historical hotel in the heart of sousse old City. Also the owner of the hotel is very gentle man and friendly with customers.
the hotel people were very polite but they know little english which is bit difficult to me. For the guests in the hotel, mos of them didn't finish their food which is really bad to the earth.
The place is in the middle of Sousse Medina, the best location to stay at Sousse downtown. It’s an historical mansion transformed into a boutique hotel, lovely.
