It was one of the best places in the world I've stayed overnight. It was worth staying there even for 1 night. Beautiful surroundings, views, garden, cosy room, pool and the staff at the property - fantastic, helpful and smiling. I recommend wholeheartedly!

This was the best place in the whole of Madeira. And probably the best hotel ever. The place is exceptional, cosy, homey, clean, well designed, not crowded with guests. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The room was perfect, great shower, great details and extras. Make you feel really welcomed. We swam in the pool. Good temperature for swimming, perfect area to chill, read, enjoy the view. We booked sports massage and it was really good and worth the money. They also gave us bathrobes. The breakfast was exceptional, smoothies, freshly squeezed juice, garden veggies etc. Outside area is also very comfy for chilling. You need to have a car for this place. Some good restaurants around.

Beautiful location surrounded by towering mountains. The property itself has a well-kept garden. We were welcomed by Linda who was very friendly and showed us around. Our apartment was quite spacious and as the evenings were a bit chilly we could use the fireplace in the living room.

The house was ideal for us, 3 adults, as we could have one bedroom each. That way there was enough space in the bedrooms, with double occupancy it might have been a bit of a squeeze. For a family of 5 or 6 it would also be fine.
The house is spacious and has a very nice seasoned, lived-in, and somehow British touch, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, where the family of the landlady had lived in for many decades and really made it a very comfortable home. It is well equipped, with plenty of dishes, plates and glasses, etc. as you can only find in a house that was really lived in, and not just done up on a small budget for rental.
The house is airy and dry, which is not an easy accomplishment on this island, especially in autumn.
There is plenty of space in the kitchen, the dining area, the sitting room, and very importantly also on the various terraces all around the house. The house is situated in a nice garden with interesting plants and which is still nicely maintained.
The location is beautiful. Not easy to find on your own, so you should take the offer of the landlady to lead you there. Once found, access is easy, also the parking. It is very quiet all around, just a few animals in the early morning, no noise from neighbors or any traffic. Also, there is a nice view down onto the ocean, so you immediately get the feeling that this is a wonderful location for a holiday.
Ponta Delgada is not the hub of activity on the island, but it is not very touristy, so nice and calm. Access to most parts of the island are vey easy and quick from here. Therefore an ideal base for all kinds of tours.

Helena is very kind helpful and welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. The area is beautiful, the house is in the perfect location to explore the north part/north west, and spend time in the capital city.
House has huge en-suite rooms and a great size well-equipped kitchen, living room, and terrace with outdoor furniture.
We had dinner every day in Sao Vicente (5 min by car) Restaurante Calamar. Excellent food, and we were happy with everything we tried.
I am sure will go and stay here next time when we'll visit the island.

Sao Vicente is a great base for exploring the north of the island without really having a huge amount going for it per se (nothing negative). But Seixal is only a few km away and is my favourite village on the island! Sao Vicente does have a few ok restaurants by the sea but I had better meal experiences elsewhere during my trip. The local caves are closed for the next year or so.

The village is absolutely beautiful.
The village is absolutely beautiful. Ideal for walking around. The views are just stunning, especially if you walk on top of the hill where the small chapel is. It's just difficult to get there if you want to use public transport. Buses there are a nightmare. We were lucky enough that our previous host took us there from Funchal. Otherwise we would struggle as nobody whom we asked in Funchal knew where the bus stop was for bus going to Sao Vicente.

Sao Vicente is a small town on the north side of Madeira,...
Sao Vicente is a small town on the north side of Madeira, rather less well known than most of the south side of the island. It has an interesting old church, a garden of indigenous trees (for plant enthusiasts), volcanic caves and interpretation centre (for geology enthusiasts) and several good restaurants (for foodies!).
From Sao Vicente you can travel along the north coast; westwards to Seixal and Porto Moniz, eastwards to Boaventura, Sao Jorge or Santana. Drive inland to Encumeada, the starting point for several superb hikes, or drive up to the Paul da Serra moorlands.
The roads around here are in good condition and easy to drive, there's not much traffic and the local drivers are quite considerate.
I've visited this area at various times of the year, for hiking and plant spotting, and there's always something new.
Food and drink? No problems! There is everything from simple roadside bars where you can share your coffee break with the locals to top quality restaurants serving authentic Madeiran dishes.

We saw very little of Sao Vicente on our short trip, since we were mainly occupied either seeing the sights in Funchal or else visiting along the coast to the East and West, rather than actually digging deeper locally. No time for a meal out, even though the hotel dining room was no good in the evenings. We've done a lot of caves before, so did not want to committ to that. So all we did was drive through it about six times without stopping to visit! Next time maybe, as it looks a good, if small, place to see more of.
The garden is stunningly beautiful and peaceful and the pool is a good size and looks inviting.
The property is surrounded by mountains and is alive with bird song. There is a very good restaurant within easy walking distance. Sao Vicente ,a short drive away, is a is a pleasant place to walk around and has good restaurants and shops.
Rooms were of a good size and beds were comfortable with sufficient blankets and the hot water bottle was a thoughtful touch. We enjoyed a levada walk nearby and visiting the north coast.
The location is amazing, right by the ocean, you can hear the sound of the waves 24/7, even from your room. If you're a surfer, this place is a 5 min walk from one of the friendlier surf breaks in the island, and only 1min away from a surf center where you can rent gear. The scenery around the place is absolutely breathtaking, and the village of Sao Vicente has a supermarket and food places if you need. This place is a gem, I would 100% recommend coming here, I will be definitely coming back

Clean, new apartment.
Nice location by the road up to encumeda (also by bus...), but of course, not on the walking distance from village of Sao Vicente. Snack Bars and grocery store, however, in the neighbourhood.
Excellent wifi
a fabulous location overlooking Sao Vicente. The apartment was artistically furnished. Close to all amenities and locations. Leonel the host is a mine full of Information which made life very easy.Very friendly and helpful at all times. This place is very highly recommended. Would love to return in the future. Thanks Leonel
Amazing town-house in Sao Vicente with a great location and amazing view.. the place is fully equipped with everything you need. The decoration is beautiful and gives you a calm vibes. Leonel went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We enjoyed the company of the beautiful Crazy and Michy during our stay.
I can’t imagine a more perfect place in São Vicente. For the price of a hotel room you can be on a comfortable apartment in the center of the village. There are restaurants and a market in easy walking distance. Filipe is a wonderful and helpful host. Great views from my balcony.
Incredibly surreal hotel in the Sao Vicente Valley. Beautiful views of mountains everywhere and pristine hotel grounds with a pool warm enough for the cloudy/cooler evening and cool enough for the sunny/warm days. I also enjoyed the sauna and pool bar! :)
Good location, easy walk to Sao Vicente and restaurants. Easy to park the car on property. Host checked that all was okay with us and made helpful recommendations about what to see and do. Property was clean and there were plenty of toiletries.
Location was perfect, communication with the house owner was pleasant, nice surrounding (supermarket, nature and gas station), view to the village. Nice fully equipped kitchen (permanently available) and the hall with the fire place.
The gorgeous view and the kindness and generosity of the host. we were warmly welcomed with wine, a bowl of fruit, fresh eggs, and more. Sao Vicente is a beautiful location with so much natural beauty. great hikes nearby!
The view is unbelievably awesome!
You will see the whole city Sao Vicente from the balcony, if the weather is good you can even do breakfast there.
Room was clean and got everything you need.
Good equipped for a hostel.
The guest house is located in the beautiful village of Sao Vincente. The view from the balcony was spectacular, birds singing from the early morning, staff extremely helpful, accommodating and warm. Highly recommended.
The views are lovely but please be aware that this is a basic hotel in a small village. Some lovely walks in the area so perhaps base yourself there for a couple of nights to do the treks , if that is your thing.
breakfast was very nice, the staff amazing, the views even better, we even found a little trail to hike up to the mini church on top of the mountain behind the hotel, great stay
Wonderful hotel, we loved our stay (2N). Nice room with thoughful details. Wonderful views from the terrace and delicious breakfast (best in whole of Madeira). Thank you!
