Such a hidden gem, I would definitely stay again. While the room was also nice, the setting is what made this place special. It was so lovely to be able to wander across to the pond to see swans and native birds upon waking, admire the beautiful gardens, and listen to the fountains. I could never have imaged such a peaceful and tranquil place in such a convenient location- I had the best night's sleep in months. The room wasn't large but was comfortable and had everything needed for a great stay with lots of nice little touches and a great breakfast, I also loved the conservatory. While I didn't get to meet Selwyn and Dellis as I was rushing out to work, they were very helpful in their communication, especially with instructions on how to find the property which made it easy to locate. Overall, a really great stay, thanks Selwyn and Dellis .
Set on a 2-acre property, Silverdale Garden Stay offers picturesque gardens and a north-facing outdoor terrace. Guests enjoy free WiFi, free continental breakfast and free on-site parking.

Orewa is easy to find and has excellent choice for food - the whole area is well laid out and in a wonderful setting of mature trees, parks, walkways, convenient access to beach and parking. The shops are interesting and locals friendly. Just feels like a peaceful easy place to be.

A friendly small town but packed full of different cafes and restaurants.
I know it can get very busy during the peak summer months but late summer seems to be a good time to visit. Busy but not crowded.

The beach was within walking distance and it was a nice sandy very clean beach. There was plenty of free parking for people travelling or those living further away.
You have everything you need all in walking distance, so no need for a car if you are staying locally.
There are plenty of good restaurants and cafes.
Most properties had a sea view, and if you are staying in one of the hotels you will see an amazing sunset.

Orewa is amazing. We used to live nearby.
Orewa is amazing. We used to live nearby. Absolutely a place to stay for any age. Now there's lots of pavement dining and great restaurants and bars. The beach is stunning. Lots of locals and visitors walk up and down the beach. Great for dog-walking, but be aware of when you keep your dog on a lead.
We were so pleased! The condo was spacious and perfect for my family of three...we all had our own rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The full kitchen was perfect for cooking at home. It's located just across from Orewa beach and a block from the restaurants and grocery stores. There were boogie boards, washer/dryer, wifi...really it had everything and it is perfect for a larger family or even two families as it has two living room areas with large TV. We were just so happy with the accommodations and hope to stay again!
I booked an apartment which was clean and spacious. The view from the balcony was excellent - you can see for miles around - and the bed was super comfortable. I have to say, the staff member who checked us in was really friendly and hospitable. The hotel itself is as centrally located as you can get for Orewa. If I was to return to Orewa, I wouldn't stop in any other location.
The unit was lovely with everything you need for a short stay. I was extremely impressed with how clean it was. The host was lovely and even brought us some bug spray, fresh milk in fridge and teas and coffees. It is so conveniently situated 2 mins away from main Orewa beach and multiple restaurants and cafes as well as the New World. Would recommend to anyone!!
What went well was the very helpful guy on the front desk.
As it was bad weather, we had booked a taxi, which decided to leave us standing there.
The very helpful guy on the desk jumped in his car and drove us to the restaurant in orewa with no hesitation.
We really appreciated this, it made our stay!
We've stayed here several times now, and it's been excellent every time! The decor of the rooms are quite different and unique, but ALL perfectly clean and lovely vibe. We only stay here when we go to Orewa now, because it's become our favourite! Great place, great location. Can't wait to go back!
We’ve been here twice now and it’s always the scenery and quietness that will keep taking us back. Always lovely to get out of Auckland. Dellis and Selwyn are such wonderful host. We will always come back when we can and when needing time away from the kids lol. Nga mihi 🫶🏽
The unit is close to central Orewa and the north, south motorways. The back gate opened to the paths around the estuary for a good morning walk or great coffees in town.
The accommodation was "clean and comfortable" with everything we needed for our 10 day stay
Me and my partner has stayed at many different motels/hotels etc, this one is by far one of the best, beautiful environment and the hosts were amazing, I will definitely recommend staying here again in the future 🙂
The property offered both morning and afternoon outdoor seating areas. Although it was on the main highway in Orewa, it was almost completely soundproof. It was only a two-minute walk around the corner to the beach.
Room was much bigger than we expected and was perfect for the teens, mum and dad. Handy to orewa town and beach - lovely owners warmed up the room for us - it was very welcoming on arrival.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely spa bath and kitchenette. Location near to the beach was great. We enjoyed the use of the free wi-fi as well as Sparksport & Netflix.
The staff are friendly and helpful, always welcoming and pleasant. We stay here each month when in Orewa and wouldn't change it. This place is absolutely a brilliant place to stay.
