The breakfasts were delicious and nicely served. The breakfast location in the courtyard was amazing. The location was wonderful as we could easily enjoy the heart of Patan and the Durbar square area. The front desk staff were really helpful, especially arranging taxis and a ride to the airport when we left.

Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Big window for a lot of light, good water pressure in bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was very kind and always brought breakfast to my room when requested. There was even hot water pot and tea in the room. I spent 3 comfortable days there after trekking. The girl at reception helped me call the taxi when I left for the airport.

Patan is very historic with a beautiful square with incredible buildings and temples. Also lots of eateries and places to drink, some wirh fantastic views over the square (we liked Drishya). Frequent festivals, saw an amazing procession on 1st night.
Nice shops selling souvenirs and far less hassle than in Thamel. Beautiful pond nearby. Exquisite night and day. Amazing Golden Temple nearby. Closes down early, places to eat mostly shut by 9pm. Foreign tourists are asked to pay to enter square in most of daylight hours even just to walk through, you can use side alleys to avoid this if you just want eg to go to taxi rank. One street is being dug up by the side of the square so yo sometimes taxis have a longer route round. Pathao and InDrive are 2 useful apps for travel.

It's one of my favorite destinations. In this city, you don't even need to aim at "scenic sites." There are a lot of antient temples and charming sites randomly scattering in the street corners. It's not as heavily influenced by tourism as other areas in the region. People are very friendly.

I stayed for around 3 days; 1-2 days are adequate to explore the well-known historical sites of Patan (Patan Darbur Square, Patan Museum, the numerous temples), and are all in walking distance. Old Patan is rich in culture; the buildings are adorned with intricate Newari carvings, and the Darbur Square built 2000 years ago is still very much alive with activity. The Patan Museum, converted from an old palace, is also a must-see.
Patan is safe - I had asked the locals, and also generally felt safe on the streets. When it rains, some streets might get muddy/have some level of muddy water.

The main square and buildings are absolutely super.
The main square and buildings are absolutely super. Loved gazing at them. I would not say the price of the fee to Westerners is justified though. It's not really set up for Westerners as far as the food shops go. There is a few. But to many dirty food places. We're the hygiene incentive just does not exist. As far a bleach goes it does not cost that much to much. So there is no excuse for the level of filth I this day and age at a tourist place attraction of any kind. Patan fix up with the bleach

The apartment was steps away from the main (Durbar) square. Great view from the rooftop patio! Restaurant choices around the corner for every taste and budget. The museum is small but really worth seeing. Beautiful temples and, after the quake, much excellent repairs and restoration everywhere. Lots of little shops, places to dawdle. Good gold jewelry shops, coffee shops, groceries and everything else. Loved the atmosphere, even after being 'in love' with Bhaktapur in previous visits. Nice to spend 2 full days there. Info: Patan, like Bhaktapur, is a UNESCO site, so an entry fee is charged to walk around the main area and this includes the museum. Ask for special validation stamp if staying more than one day. Support what UNESCO is doing!!

Patan is one of my favourite places to explore.
Patan is one of my favourite places to explore. Around every corner is another historical building, temple, shrine etc..
You can spend hours getting lost down the narrow streets. I highly recommend visiting. Especially the Durbar Square and restaurants nearby for a great view.
The apartment is newly renovated and very clean. It is in a fantastic location for easily accessing the main square and other parts of Patan. But the best part of our stay were the hosts. Pabitra and her mother were so helpful and kind. Pabitra works in heritage and when we first arrived she showed us around and explained the different buildings and temples. I was also having some health issues and she went to the local pharmacy and grabbed some supplies for us. There is also a new kitchen upstairs and access to the roof.
The location was right in Old Patan, around 5 mins walk to the Patan Darbur Square, Museum and the historical attractions. The staff was very responsive over the Booking.com chat function and helpful in bringing my luggage up to the 3rd floor (all rooms are either on the 3rd or 4th floor). I particularly like the traditional building and furniture, as well as the balcony.
Towels and hand soapbar are provided but take note to bring your own bathing soap and toiletries.
The staff was really friendly and helpful, especially Garima. The beds are simple but comfy, with super soft blankets. It's the closest hostel to Patan Durbar Square that I could find on booking, about 10 min walking to get there.
As the family just started the hostel, facilities are basic but newly renovated, so very clean and in good condition. They told me they have great plans to furnish and decorate the rooftop terrace to create a more cozy common area.
Yamba is as traditional of a family-run guesthouse as you'd hope to find in Patan. Located in what is already an incredibly historic district, it's charm and warmth are felt throughout your stay. Plenty spacious with hot shower, mini fridge and separate seating/eating area to reorient yourself on the complimentary wifi while enjoying a delicious homemade breakfast. I stayed here before and after my two week trek and would stay again if back in the area.
The room exceeded my expectations, larger and well appointed with a modern bathroom. There was wifi, which I was not expecting, and it worked well. Room was on top floor, had help to carry heavy bag up the stairs when I arrived. I was able to check in quite late after attending a work related dinner. The hotel room was excellent value for money and I would have stayed there longer if I known that wifi was available when I made my booking.
We really enjoyed our stay at Timila, the hotel is gorgeous with a lovely inner yard and rooftop terrace for breakfast. You step into a serene place. The room exceeded our expectations, it was very comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. The staff is very friendly, competent and helpful. We were happy staying in Patan because it's a bit less bustle than in other areas of the city but still has everything you need.
I had an awesome stay here at Traditional Stay - A Boutique Hotel. The property is very safe; includes a guard posted in evenings hours, security cameras and room key card locking mechanisms. And the staff are very friendly. Everyone was very approachable and super helpful. I really liked that the rooms were all equipped with AC and rainfall showers and that there were dining options available on site.
Hotel location was excellent. It is literally 2mins walking distance to Patan Darbar Square. The hotel manager and staff are exceptional. Ayush organised the airport transfer and late check in for me. Alisha took the effort to arrange a rider to come pick me up and take me sightseeing. It was really easy to communicate with the team through whatsapp if you need help. Highly recommend!
Kathmandu is not an easy city with a maze of noisy and crowded street.
Next-door hotel is located within a quiet neighbourhood and acts like an oasis in the desert. This positive impression is reinforced thanks to the services offered by Tisa and his staff always smiling and helpful.
I will definitely return there
The hotel was just minutes away from Patan Durbar Square and next door to the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolitan centre that is Lalitpur district.
The hotel is located in a historical building that is 150 years old and has a very nice character if you prefer a boutique hotel to an established chain.
We loved our stay here! It was a nice stay in the Patan Square area. They worked with our schedule, comfortable beds, warm showers, nice rooftop terrace, quality breakfast. We enjoyed getting to know the staff and they were always attentive to our needs :)
Magnificent guesthouse in a quiet neighbourhood 5 minute walk from Patan Durbar Square. Ravi has created a great atmosphere with quality materials and an eye for design and finishing. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Highly recommended.
Everything was perfect. A family run hotel,
ran by such lovely, kind, people.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The bed was huge !!
The bathroom was beautiful!
The outside area was so peaceful !
and the nicest place fore morning breakfast.
This place is located right in the heart of Patan with traditional newari setting. The staffs were very cordial and sweet. Rooms were extremely cozy, comfortable and cute. Would 100% recommend this place for anyone's stay.
Very clean, cozy and beautiful space. Incredible view from the window and quiet courtyard! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Responsive, friendly staff welcoming and responsive to any request advise!
Outstanding stay in a lovingly restored property in the heart of traditional Patan. The kindness, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was outstanding.
A highly recommend place to stay
They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 6 am. Everything was incredible and it looked like an apartment rather than a hotel. Feel like a home.
