The room was well appointed with comfortable bedding and chairs. The restaurant was very good and we enjoyed the ambience. It was nice having a pool although the water was a little cool for swimming, but it was still early in the season (late May). I called reception to ask for glasses and ice to have a drink in our room and within 2 minutes there was a knock on the door. Their Orvieto Classico wine was excellent and we bought 2 bottles. Wish we bought more!

The Picchio Hotel is set in a residential area and offers air-conditioned en suite rooms and free Wi-Fi. The ancient town of Orvieto is a 10-minute away by funicolar(until 8 pm) or by car.

Beautiful property, centrally located, historic palace very skilfully restored, with excellent modern facilities. The bed is very comfortable, as is the room. Breakfast is excellent. The staff are special, highly personable, and very focused on their guests’ comfort.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was nice and spotless. The bed was super comfy (I wanted to take the pillow home with me!). Would definitely stay again if I returned to Orvieto and would recommend to others.
