Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, hotel in Venice

Set on the peaceful banks of Giudecca Island, the Hilton Molino Stucky is a former flour mill refurbished to become a unique hotel.

The staff were very courteous and the shuttle service by the hotel was a plus. There isn’t much to do on the island of molino and there are no shops near the hotel. The room was very small and in my view not very clean for Hilton standard. We met a straw on the floor in our room and it looked like the room hadn’t been hoovered.

    Bad weather spoiled the magic.

Bad weather spoiled the magic. Apart from that, Venice is an unique engineering wonder and major artworks display wherever you'd go. We've visited places we haven't seen before, so we only marginally touched on the San Marco's Basilica and the Doges' Palace. Ca' d'Oro, Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, Palazzo Grimani, and so on. Getting around Venice is reasonably convenient considering the given site limitations. The vaporetto's schedule is as reliable as any subway's. The rest of the central area can be covered easily by foot. The only thing we would avoid, next time, would be a bad weather forecast.

Travelled in April, was 21 degrees and not too busy.

Travelled in April, was 21 degrees and not too busy. We didn't book anything in terms of sites and found it easy to get into sites we wanted to e.g. Palazzo Ducale (think also call Doge's Palace) went first thing and waited 10 mins. As part of this you go over the bridge of sighs. When we got out the Tower did have a queue so we waited until later that day to go up tower as we ended up back there anyway. We found just walking around Venice was great - we went to see an old book shop and the narrowest street in Venice. We also went over the Accademia Bridge. We watched a lot of YouTube to see what we wanted. We got a bit distracted trying to find some eating places recommended but we ended up just eating where we felt hungry, didn't feel it was over expensive (compared to UK). On our second day we got the water bus to Burano and Murano. We loved Burano, just walking around and the houses and vibe was just great. Murano, obviously bought a vase and was great to see. We used the opportunity coming back since bought a day ticket for the water bus to just go on a bus round trip which was interesting. Last day just wandered and saw the Rialto Bridge. I did go to the Leonardo Da Vinci museum, it was really small and felt a bit overpriced. However if you have children there was some interactive things they could do. Also showed some of his inventions which was interesting but was only in there for about 15 mins. There are a lot of bridges (obviously), but didn't realise how many till got there. It has amazing architecture and a lovely place, just be prepared to walk loads and if coming from the airport the water bus there is different from the one's you take in Venice. We found the people really nice and it is always recommended to speak some of their language even to say Grazie.

Venice is just fabulous. It is odd, It is wonderful. We never had a bad meal. You get lost and find a fabulous view or square. There are dead ends you go down and go WOW!! No spoilers - but avoid the hot months when it is crowded and too hot ad can be smelly. We went at the end of April going into May and it was getting hot at the end and the crowds were building up. Just enjoy it and eat at or before 7.00,

I don’t recommend going to Venice if you’re a person of colour, especially black. Many locals treat you with disgust and blatantly ignore or refuse to help you. There are none stop dirty looks and frowning, some ignore you, some push you out of the way, loads refuse to help you with simple questions like directions, others refuse to sit next to you. Airport staff purposely make you late for flights. If you do visit learn some basic words so you can understand some things, like when they’re sniggering about you in the Uber. One Uber driver mocked me in the car on the phone. Won’t be going back again.

Venice is exciting, brimming with culture, and like no other cities, the prices are in general reasonable, and people are friendly and helpful. However, in order to have a good stay, you have to take the following into account: The city was crowded already in April. I would not go in the summer, and avoid the weekends for a shorter stay. It can be colder and more windy than you think. Bring some warm wind- and waterproof clothing, Be prepared to walk a lot, otherwise it is difficult to see the things you want to. We typically walked about 7 km a day. Even if there are some signs of directions, Venice is labyrinthine. I used google maps, a high resolution paper map and sometimes a compass, and even got lost a few times. However, it also meant we found a place with wonderful italian ice we returned to several times.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed in during our Trip to Italy. You can't beat the location of Bauer Palazzo. The lobby is right in front of all the designer shopping in Venice but also in tucked away enough that the foot traffic isn't too heavy in front of the hotel. The hotel bar is right on the Grande Canal so we enjoyed having a cocktail out there before dinner. The room was very spacious (particularly for a hotel room in Italy). It is also a very short walk to St. Mark's Square.

This was one of our best accommodations on our Italy trip. The location was perfect, right in the heart of Venice tourism locales. Walking distance in minutes to the Rialto as well as St Marks sq. Most cafes and restaurants of repute within walking distance. The hosts communicated well. The apartment can best be described as elegant. There were cookies on the hall table and bedside tables which was a nice touch. Air-conditioning was vital in the humid Italian heat. Perfect for a family.

It was our first time to Italy and knowing that we needed to take not only a train to Venice but then also a water bus to the property, we had all kinds of questions for Kateryna before we arrived. She was very helpful in letting us know the best train to take from Milan, how to find the water bus, and which one to take. She met us at the docking area and escorted us to our apartment. It was more than we could ever have hoped for: clean, spacious and right on the water!

Our room was enormous! We were in the annex of the hotel because we booked the room only a few days in advance. The breakfast was the best one we had in Italy, The view from the balcony located in the dining room was beyond breathtaking. My husband and I had a glass of wine on the balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. It was so emotionally moving, I began weeping at the majestic beauty of the canal. My husband in reaction, booked us another week in Venice.

Fantastic location. Flat, two-three minute walk from the Giglio ferry stop. Lift in hotel for luggage to our room. Breakfast was one of the better ones we have had on our extended Italy trip. Many amenities in room and snack upon arrival. We asked for a fan for the room which we received. First night to see sleep through the night on our trip. The piazza that hotel property opened onto has a restaurant, amazing church façade and cool glass shop.

It is a small, adorable hotel in quiet neighborhood, with garden, which is very rare in Venice. Staff was great and super friendly. Room very clean, with great view, bathroom well equiped and spacious. Very comfortable bed in bedroom. Breakfast was standard for Italy - only sweets (jam, honey, jugurt, croissant, toasts etc), no vegetables or fruits. Coffee was delicious. Breakfast served nicely to the table in the garden, great option!

The breakfast was the best one we had in italy , it is carried up in baskets together with juice coffee and fresh warm croissants and bread ! Amazing. Totally did not expect that at all. The staff is also extremely kind to us. We were allowed to stow our bag in the hotel so we could explore easier the last day. Which helped so much since venice is full of stairs and carrying bags can be troublesome. The bed was very soft as well.

"Coop" convenient store is nearby, around five minutes of walk, where you can buy almost everything you need. The warmest hotel I visited during my trip to Italy. The hotel is in the heart of Venice easily accessible by vaporetto. The room was spacious and overlooked the roofs. The best view of a small canal was from the bathroom window. The breakfast was overall good, but lacked some vegetables and the coffee could be better, especially as it is Italy. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

When looking for a splendid top hotel in Venice, the Bauer is best, real 5 star services at a price lower than the other 5 star services. Servicing and personal is top.
