Super close to the train station. Literally next to the exit with just 1 min walk. It’s also a close walking distance to the pier to hop on the boat to other islands.
The place is very nice, cozy and modern. Well cleaned. Sofa bed is very comfortable and big unlike other places. There’s snack (biscuits, macaron), tea and water to welcome us. There’s a microwave in the kitchen with all the kitchenware. Bathroom is well equipped with amenities. Water pressure is strong. The owner is also super nice and helpful. He stood in front of the place to make sure we find the place. When we msg him to ask something at night, he offered to come by to help and we’re very glad.

Elisa is extremely kind to relocate us to another of her room right at the centre of Varenna as there was vacancy and the view of lake como from the balcony and rooftop was stunning! It was a perfect stay with free toiletries, hairdryer etc. and great breakfast! (honestly rare to see free breakfast provided so definitely a plus point)

Hermes was a very kind host and suggesting excellent restaurants for dinner. He has a well equipped wine shop and offers wine tasting. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to enjoy the tasting, but he gave us a good price for wines we purchased!

Ideal location for visiting other towns on the lake, Bellagio, Menaggio & Tremenzenno all a short distance away. Ferries are frequent & very punctual. One hour train ride into Milan, not that frequent so check the times.

We knew we were going off season (the hotel has only opened the week we visited in the 2nd week of March) Varenna is a pretty village with breathtakingly beautiful views. But off season there was nowhere open to get a drink or food after 9pm!

Easy walk about town.
Easy walk about town. Wear good walking shoes steps are steep and not always a handrail. Beautiful gardens and scenery. Easy hop on a ferry to go to the other towns. Hike up to the castle is 30 min. I would have felt more comfortable with a walking stick. Make sure to have water.

Picturesque and just charming. Loved the waterfront, walking on the bridge, flowers, vibe and restaurants on the water. Ferry efficient and pleasant, easy to access other towns. Apartment, bed, linens and temperature were very comfortable. Couch and high-back chair seem old and could use an updating soon. Happy to have a kitchen and a kitchen table and chairs. We paid €12 for a small bottle of wine offered in the apartment. Nice breakfast included in our stay. We loved our time in Varenna and ferrying over to Bellagio. The apartment was well equipped, clean and well styled. It was 2km out of Varenna but there was a great multi story car park on the edge of Varenna which served us well. Daniela and Marco were really helpful and we loved the boat hire they suggested - 3hours on Lake Como was a highlight!AmandaAustralia

This was the last 2 nights of our two week trip and it was hard to leave. Varenna is unassuming but easy to get to via train or ferry. The facilities were perfect, nice big room and bathroom, excellent shower, beautiful picturesque balcony overlooking the water. Nice breakfast with hot options too. The windows are new and well sealed to successfully block out noises from nearby ferry terminal and restaurants. Short walk from the train station, and close to all of Varenna's best sites.
