Totally special location with Mauro as a great host. He lovingly takes care of his guests, communicated in several languages via Whattsapp, organized the arrival, booked a table in the restaurant, admired our convertible and offered a great breakfast. The house is totally original. There is a small shop in the garden. The place is literally at the end of the world with a crazy approach with hundreds of curves - that was really exciting. Out of season San Domenico was absolutely deserted. That's exactly what we were looking for - peace and quiet.
SOLENEVE is located in San Domenico and offers a shared lounge. The property features mountain and garden views, and is 38 km from Simplon Pass.

The hut seems recently renovated, inside everything is done with big attention to detail and mid-to-high category furnishings, not the cheap stuff you usually find. Two floors, two big bathrooms, spacious bedrooms, kitchen is very well equipped, bbq and fireplace are awesome. We spent a few nights with a small kid as well, the host prepared both the cot and a chair to mount on the table. Big lawn in front with great view of the mountains, parking place for the car and plenty of room to hang around the bbq. For us all aspects exceeded expectations, I'd definitely recommend and come back!

Fantastic views, right up in the mountains, perfect as a stopover before or after the Simplon Pass and only 5 minutes from Ponte di Diavolo which is worth making a detour (cross to the other side for the best views). Lovely welcome, great restaurant serving local specialities and extremely good value.

Set in quiet Baceno, Affittacamere Ca' Fattorini is 5 minutes' drive from the hot springs of Terme di Premia. It offers peaceful rooms and suites with free Wi-Fi and balconies with mountain views.
For a short visit only (max 2 days). Ski resort with very old ski lifts, even extremely dangerous. No activities when not skiing or any places to visit, neither appropriate restaurants. Hotel la Vetta is nice, but not at all worth the price.

The village is tiny, and you can easily tell the local population is counted in the tens of people, if at all. This leads to very limited choice for places to stay and eat. Fortunately, the few that there are, are nice places, with friendly staff and good food.
As a ski resort, there are not very many pistes, but they cater for all levels of skier skill. There even is a snow park! The ski lifts are pretty modern and fast, causing almost no cueing at their base.
