Liked the tranquille location in Umbrian countryside. The pool is really small, but sufficient to chill after the whole (very hot) day of sightseeing. Liked chatting with the host about this & that. 3 dogs. One very friendly black Cocker Spaniel and 2 white ones (don’t know the breed), out of which one is a real watch dog, and the other one is quite timid, but we befriended the next morning.

The room was well appointed with comfortable bedding and chairs. The restaurant was very good and we enjoyed the ambience. It was nice having a pool although the water was a little cool for swimming, but it was still early in the season (late May). I called reception to ask for glasses and ice to have a drink in our room and within 2 minutes there was a knock on the door. Their Orvieto Classico wine was excellent and we bought 2 bottles. Wish we bought more!

Beautiful property, centrally located, historic palace very skilfully restored, with excellent modern facilities. The bed is very comfortable, as is the room. Breakfast is excellent. The staff are special, highly personable, and very focused on their guests’ comfort.
