Absolutely stunning hotel, can’t be beat for beauty or impressiveness. Our room and bathroom were wonderful. Dinner room was also beautiful. Staff were mostly friendly and a little kooky, not as stuffy as in some similar hotels

The hotel was in a great location, close to the main square and important sites of interest. The room was comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was a highlight with a large choose of food to cater to all tastes. The staff were polite and helpful with suggestions and happily booked a taxi for an arranged time at the end of my stay.

You really haven't seen Italy until you've seen Gubbio, it is the supreme example of a medieval Italian hill city, and bigger than most. The Relais Ducale's sister restaurants, the Lupo and the Bosone Garden, are fairly expensive, but superb. The Lupo is our special favourite with exemplary Umbrian food often featuring the famous black truffles, and a wonderful wine list which is not always expensive. The city is very popular with day trippers and gets very crowded and full of traffic in the narrow streets. This is especially true on market days when many streets are closed. Also, beware of fines for parking or even driving in the wrong places! Make sure you plan your parking carefully and be prepared to have Plans A, B & C for that. It's hilly, although there are two useful public lifts between different levels. A fascinating location whose only drawbacks are inherent in its ancient history.

Beautiful city I would have liked to stay more and come back for the 7th of December when the big Christmas tree on the mountain will be illuminated. I would like to see as well the "Corsa dei Ceri" in May.

Interesting old town. Compact tourist town.
Interesting old town. Compact tourist town. Tour buses coming in during the day. Many restaurants serving good to terrible food. The price is about the same at all of them, 40-60 euros a couple. Hiking up Mt. Ingino is fun. the Funivia is really fun. You can see eveything in three days. Parking is difficult. The free parking spots were always gone. We got a 1 week parking pass from the parking machine for 20 euros at the Funivia just outside the SE wall. Well worth it. About a 15 minute walk to our place. Without a car, the supermarkets are about a 30 minute walk. We came end of Sept. The tourists dropped but the restaurants started to close or had odd hours.

Gubbio in Perugia is a charming and picturesque town that left us truly captivated. The historical center is a treasure trove of ancient architecture, narrow cobblestone streets, and stunning views. The town's rich history and culture are evident at every turn, making it a must-visit destination.
One thing to note is that exploring the historical center of Gubbio requires a good level of fitness. The town is situated on hilly terrain, with steep inclines and descents throughout. Constantly walking up and downhill can be quite challenging, so it's essential to come prepared with sturdy and comfortable shoes. However, the effort is well worth it as you are rewarded with breathtaking vistas and hidden gems around every corner.
Despite the physical demands, we found the experience of navigating the town's winding streets to be exhilarating. The ambiance of Gubbio is simply enchanting, with its medieval architecture and quaint squares. We enjoyed wandering through the shops, stopping at charming cafes, and immersing ourselves in the vibrant local culture.
The people of Gubbio were warm and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. We encountered friendly locals who were eager to share stories about their town and offer recommendations for places to visit. The sense of community and pride in their heritage was palpable, making us feel like part of something special.
In summary, Gubbio is a gem of a town with a rich historical heritage and a unique atmosphere. While it requires a certain level of fitness to explore the steep streets, the beauty and authenticity of Gubbio make it a destination well worth the visit. Just remember to bring your best walking shoes and prepare to be enchanted by this remarkable town.

Casa Christina is in easy walking distance of all the key...
Casa Christina is in easy walking distance of all the key sites in Gubbio and in one of the most beautiful streets. It's a very warm, clean and comfortable house with all the amenities you'd expect in a home rather than a holiday property. Christina met us with the key and came armed with fresh fruit, milk and butter to add to the amazing selection of cakes, cookies, crackers and croisants that were already laid out waiting. Gubbio is a perfect medieval town, spotlessly clean and well-kept with beautiful churches and friendly people who clearly take great pride in where they live.
This is a beautiful independent property set within a large garden that has far reaching views to Gubbio and beyond. It's spacious, well furnished, and with all the amenities you need for a self catering break. There is free on-site parking right outside the property. The location was perfect, not far from Gubbio in a peaceful spot. Sabrina gave us a warm welcome, talking us through (in English) what the property has to offer and also giving us useful information about Gubbio. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The location of Villa Mozart is fantastic! A quest rural area, but not far from Gubbio allowed us to rest and relax and still be able to visit as much as we wanted without too much driving. The hosts are wonderful, welcoming, helpful and warm (we even received freshly harvested plums from Signora's own orchard!). The rooms and bathroom were extremely clean and kitchen well-equipped. Sadly, we had to cut our stay short due to family emergency, but we will surely come back to Villa Mozart during our next stay.
The breakfast was wonderful -- all prepared by our hostess, Barbara. She's a talented baker and served us an apple tart and various other treats plus yogurt, juices, jams and more. We enjoyed meeting Barbara and her family who were all very friendly and hospitable. And we loved meeting their friendly dog and cat and her six kittens plus 2 goats!
Barbara told us about a junior Running of the Candles in Gubbio in which her son participated. So glad we didn't miss it!
Beautiful property on a mountain top, quiet, peaceful, with great views and 10 min drive from Gubbio. The house and kitchen are well equipped and the bed is very comfortable. The 2 bedroom house is very private. Its a wonderful place to stay if you have a car and want to enjoy nature near the city. The owner will go out of her way to make sure everything is perfect for her guests. She had a thoughtful basket of goodies and a bottle of wine waiting for us.
Everything was perfect. Best hotel experience we've ever had - just pure relaxation. The location is gorgeous, the rooms were top notch in terms of both style and comfort, the food was delicious both at breakfast and at dinner (an absolute must if you stay here!!) and the service could not have been more helpful and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a tranquil getaway. I hope to come back someday.
Absolutely stunning location and wonderful views. Loved it and can't wait to go back. Such an interesting and idiosyncratic building, great fun to explore, super staff, in a really lovely town. Parking is not easy - we parked outside the city walls and walked, but being a hotel guest effectively gets you a night's parking permit within the town, if you dare to negotiate the medieval maze of streets!
Beautiful estate close to Gubbio but totally private with a fabulous villa and gardens. Our accommodation was in a separate building and the bedroom was large with all the amenities you would expect. Breakfast was a continental style and ample. The owner and staff were friendly and looked after us well.
The Happy House was the most comfortable and clean place we have stayed in Italy so far. We are walking via de Francesco and staying in a lot of locations. It was so clean and well stocked. The Host was super nice and communicative. Great location. We highly recommend
Wonderful central location in the historic heart of Gubbio - and in a fantastic building.
Cosy (but spacious), traditionally-furnished room.
Good heating (it was cold out!).
Excellent breakfast buffet.
Friendly, helpful staff - and lovely reception dog, Lola...
Location was wonderful in the centre of old Gubbio. It had a beautiful garden where you could relax or have breakfast which was included in the price. Beverly the manager was very accommodating and super pleasant. We loved Residenza Le Logge
Beautiful restored farmhouse in lovely quiet and green hills close to Gubbio. Andrea and his mother (who prepares the fantastic breakfast!) are wonderful hosts. Nice pool with a view too. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Perfect location, walking distance to Gubbio centro storico, kind staff, comfortable, clean, free parking on site… Were there only for a pit-stop traveling south but exceeded our expectation by all means
Gino was a great host. The apartment is centrally located in Gubbio. Excellent restaurants and sites to explore. Gino offered plenty of coffee, water, wine, yogurt, fruit, cookies, etc.
The apartment is in old Gubbio but has been beautifully renovated with modern facilities while keeping the charm of the older building. Linens and kitchen/dining ware are high quality.
