Blackwater Eco Pods, hotel in Aglish

Located 23 km from Tynte's Castle, Blackwater Eco Pods offers accommodation with a patio.

We loved the pods and location, we were a bit disappointed with space around as we have football loving kids but didn't hinder our enjoyment. We will definitely come again.

Quiet and pretty situation Convenient for town (short drive) Very helpful owners. Good breakfast. Fortunately, on a Bank Holiday week-end, the owner was able to secure us a dinner booking in an excellent local seafood restaurant.

Aherne's Townhouse Hotel and Seafood Restaurant, hotel in Aglish

Offering a la carte restaurant, Aherne's is located in the seaside town of Youghal in County Cork on Ireland's beautiful south coast. There is free parking and free Wi-Fi access is available.

A real pity to see this landmark guest house fall from grace. While the guest rooms were clean and comfortable, the property is nowhere close to being a 4 star Blue Book guesthouse. Breakfast was fine, with Ann’s homemade brown bread being a highlight; however it was a real pity that the full breakfast was nothing special and the scrambled eggs inedible. Most disappointing was the seafood open sandwich which included some questionable tinned fish and didn’t seem to include any fresh seafood on the plate at all. We were hoping for a much nicer experience but it wasn’t worth €200 bnb so we won’t be back.

Our hosts were wonderful, fresh tomatoes and lettuce from the garden. Scones and home-made jam in the kitchen when we arrived. Supply of toiletries in bathroom as well as tea, coffee, cereal etc in kitchen. Made to feel so welcome. Loved exploring the garden, it is a gem. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, Rose and Siobhan.
