We really enjoyed Lombok.
We really enjoyed Lombok. It provides the sun, sea, beaches, hikes, and nature that Bali provides but less crowded and prices are slightly lower then Bali too. It’s a relaxing place and would love to come back again.

The local Kuta Lombok Taxi Mafia makes getting around...
The local Kuta Lombok Taxi Mafia makes getting around extremely difficult unless you can use a scooter. Grab and Gojek are kept out of the area and no taxis display any signage to alert you that they are a taxi. Prices charged are often totally astronomical but you don't have any other option except to walk. We will not visit Kuta Lombok again until the taxi issue is sorted. There are many much nicer places to stay in Indonesia. There are plenty of good restaurants in Kuta but that's about all. The beach is really, really, really, really full of rubbish and very unattractive because of it. There is serious rubbish absolutely everywhere. The best part of our visit was the day trip 30 mins away to Selong Belanak beach which is stunningly beautiful.

We did not went to Kuta town to visit Restos this time (is our second visit to the area). It was because the hotel was really great and we just wanted to be chillin by the ocean. Kuta has many new restaurants and liquor shops. We really liked the area. Is so quiet that gives you more privacy. This place is great for families with kids! not that single people or couples can not enjoy it, don't get me wrong but now that we have a kid we seek for things that this place offer. There were many couples without kids too, and they seemed to be enjoying this paradise too. The hotel even has a photographer on site that was such a fantastic thing since we always struggle to have pictures in which all of us are in, and having a professional just gives the final touch.

This place is AWESOME! I only worry that it will be harmed by over tourism as it becomes increasingly developed & losing it's charm.... The rubbish on the beaches when there is a lot of wind is heartbreaking. Lots of wanker expat tourists around the cafes. I managed to avoid for the most part & make friends with locals.

Of course, this is not a luxury hotel, but for a budget hotel, it is amazing. Staff is amazing, very helpful. Location is great. Wifi is very good. What is more important for me is that the guests were super diverse and respectful to each other. Of course, the hotel cannot control this, but it was a plus for us. We can definitely stay there when we visit lombok next time.
