This is a fantastic spot well away from the hustle and bustle and endless tourists of Bali. The swimming pool is small but great, with plenty of space for sun loungers in the sun or shade. The menu is very small, but delicious. I ate dinner here every night: all Indonesian, home-cooked and super healthy and cheap. The breakfast is also great in the morning: home-baked bread, homemade jam, eggs of your choice and a fresh fruit platter :) There are three dogs on the property who were all lovely and made me feel safe at night after the staff go home. The nearest supermarket was a 15-minute walk down the mountain, and the beach was also around 15 minutes walking away. If you're looking for some real peace and quiet, this is the place for you. WiFi is also very good in the main villa area, so working here was easy (downloads, etc).

This place is absolutely gorgeous and amazing. Catherine and Laurent, the owners, created a luxurious little paradise in a very quite and beautiful location in northeast Bali. You will not find a better place to relax and enjoy the time. We spent 4 days in this magnificent place and we regretted that we had to leave. Catherine, Laurent and their staff provided an outstanding and exceptional service. Everyone is so welcoming we felt immediately being „home“. The owners and staff are amazing and are going above and beyond to make every moment of our stay perfect. The breakfast and dinners are excellent and delicious. Gaia-Oasis Abasan Mountain Retreat is one of the most beautiful places I have found in Bali and is most probably one of the last hidden paradises of peace and tranquility on the island. The vast property lays on a hillside and the buildings are nestled amongst the trees. There is a wonderful scent of Frangipani flowers all over the place. There are different accommodations to choose from, there is a 13-m pool in which extended swimming is possible and the place features Yoga and Meditation halls with stunning views. The main building is the restaurant, where delicious meals are served three times a day and free tea and flavoured water is available all day long. This place is perfect for people who wish to get away from the mainstream tourism, who love nature and are looking for a way to disconnect from a 24/7 availability. Internet is available in the main building/restaurant. Everything is very clean and well maintained. What makes the place unique, however, is the people: I met three of the founders and they where very hospitable and made me feel like home far away from home. All members of the staff are very friendly and go to great lengths to make sure their guests are well accommodated. Thank you Yen, Helen and Mariah for unforgettable moments. - Super view to volcano/mountains. You can make good photos and videos. BUT, if hotel (4 small houses) will be occupied, then you need to wait or in another case you couldn’t do photos without people. - Staff is very friendly and helpful. Owner give a job for students also. I think it’s very good from one side. - Hotel send advices in welcome message how better to get this place. If you go on motorbike 🏍️ or car 🚘 yourselves - road could be difficult. Choose right way/road. We didn’t see this message and it was hell!

This was exceptional for the cost providing a nice stopover between Amed and Lovina. The area was very quiet with very few tourists. There are a few warungs within 10 minute walk. Rivan gave me a lift inyo the town centre and we booked him to drive us to Lovina. Thank you.
