Great room, great breakfast, free parking, and great staff. We met people that return year after year. That in itself says it all.

We liked the fact it was away from the main town and within walking distance to Grammeno Beach which is sandy. The local beach is just a few minutes walk away across the road with a lovely cafe/ staff but it's pebble beach but also beautiful. The water is crystal clear.
The breakfast was generous and wonderful and the two ladies who did the breakfast and cleaned our rooms we're so lovely.
The garden is beautiful. People took the breakfast out on a tray and sat under the vine. I enjoyed watching the goats on the rocks behind the house.
There are quite a few restaurants to eat in nearby within walking distance if you didn't fancy driving into Paleochora town including one in the campsite which is nearby.

The place is beautiful, designed and finished to a really high standard. The bed was super comfy, and all the staff that I met were really friendly and accommodating. I love the little touches, like some olive oil, washing up liquid and kitchen roll given to me which meant that I didn't have to buy these items - always an issue of waste when travelling for a short time if you want to cook.
I loved my time here and will definitely be back!

The owner and her trusty cleaner Katarina were wonderful. So friendly and welcoming. The room was adequate. Comfy beds, great shower, a little tight in the kitchen area but I used it mostly for coffee and breakfast. It was the location that I really enjoyed. A 7-8 min walk into town to catch the free shuttle to the beach and situated at the edge of town making the return 4km walk a bit shorter.

If you are looking for a small laid back beach town in Crete, this is a greatchoice. Many of the more full service touristy options are on the north side of the island, Palaiochora is on the south. You can drive from Palaichora to Chania in less than 1.5 hours : drive to Heraklion is closer to 3.5 hours.
Plenty of beaches, good food, good people. Not really a party crowd, at least when we were there at the end of the season. There are many options for boat trips, hiking and outdoor activities. Ebikes and similar are easy to rent.

Lovely relaxed seaside town - really chill atmosphere in the evenings with lots of restaurants along the sea front and in main and back streets serving great food and generous extras (bread, olives, small desserts and raki).
We enjoyed a good balance of some hiking (Aghia Irina Gorge was lovely and very quiet), hiring a car to explore the area and a couple of days of swimming, snorkelling and reading on the beach.
I expect Paleochora is heaving n high season, but in Kate September was wonderfully laid back - a few days here and a few in Chania& Rethymno was a really nice balance.
I would stay right in the town next time - lots of small studios advertised along the road from town to harbour looked nice, quiet and close to everything

Palauochora is lovely low key resort with great food and beaches. We really like the vibe of the town which is authentic and friendly. Highly recommended for 3-4 days or longer. Really like the fact that it can be easily accessed by a very efficient bus and ferry service. We’ll definitely be back

Pretty little town with a chilled vibe but still has some action. Excellent cocktail bar in the middle of town. Amazing sunrises on one side and the most stunning sunsets on the other side.
Sandy beaches for those who like that but rocky beaches on the ither side that offer great snorkelling opportunities.

What a lovely place this is.
What a lovely place this is. It has lots going on in the harbour town. With a very friendly vibe. Soooo many places to eat, either on the harbour front or in the lovely little narrow streets of the town.
The town beach near the harbour is pebbles but across town is a wonderful wide stretch of beach that is lovely and sandy. It did get a bit windy and this makes the sand blow around. So use the edge near the Castel.
The ferry comes into the main harbour , so although we didn't venture that far ypu could take day trips from there. Next time we will🙂
We will revisit- its one of those places that you want to return to.
Comfortable room, with good storage, kitchenette and shower room. Maria, our host, was very friendly and welcoming, she clearly took pride in her rooms and made sure our room was spotlessly clean and attractive and was happy to help in any way she could. She also left a welcome gift of drinks and delicious biscuits.
The location was great, straight across the road to the sandy beach and close to a selection of restaurants, bars and shops.
It’s an absolute bargain and worth more.
The location is perfect to reach the old town, the beach and to be quickly out of town. We always found a parking spot nearby. Room is very clean, has a big balcony with a very nice view towards the mountains and nice sunset.
Good and big breakfast with everything usual, fresh fruit and fresh orange juice, terrace is in the shade which is nice in the morning. Staff/Owners are very friendly and helpful. They had a lot of amnesties at your disposal in the bathroom.
It's one of the best and most comfortable places we've stayed so far! The host is so nice and one can see and feel that he has built and manages the whole building with a lot of love and care! There are many small things that highlights how well-thought everything is. Location is also great - just 1minute away from the beautiful long sandy beach with amaizing waves! Highly recommend this place, it's a hidden jem of the pretty touristic city!
This was a wonderful, airy, serene and comfortable small resort on the edge of Paleochora. The property and the pool were beautiful and pristine and felt quintessentially Greek. The beach was just down a short lane and the town an easy walk, either along the beach or by the road. Our hostess was very gracious and so helpful. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here on the south of Crete.
Small comfortable unpretentious hotel right opposite the sandy beach. Room had all the usual amenities and good wifi. Excellent and plentiful breakfast. Helpful staff. Private parking. Five minutes walk across the main street to the other side of the peninsula with pebbly beach, ferries, and most of the restaurants on the ‘promenade’.
An excellent space with a modern, very attractive design. Large room with all comforts and any needed facilities. Located in the centre of Palaiochora, just 3 miniutes from everything (beaches, taverns, bars, supermarket, etc.). Despite located in the centre of Palaiochora, it was very quiet.
Excellent room service. Very clean room.
This place has special vibes… if you need restart your mind, power - it is very good place. For living there are good comfortable room that includes small kitchen with everything, big balcony, nice view, nice mattress for sleeping. The villa for 5 minutes from Palaiochora by car. Perfect sand beach 3 min walk.
The apartment was spacious and spotlessly clean. The balcony was huge, with a fantastic view, and plenty of seating options. The location was extremely central; easy to walk to shops, restaurants, and the beaches. The host, Nancy, was extremely helpful before and during our stay.
The hotel has its own almost private beach. Katerina who was an excellent host gave us water bottles, sunbeds and an umbrella to take with us at the beach. The balconies have a great view and the location is really quite. Would definitely go there again
Everything was perfect, the room had everything we needed and was very clean, the staff was nice and communication was clear. It's very close to a small beach and a 5 minutes walk to the bigger one.
We will definitely come again !
The location is excellent, very close to the center of Paleochora and very close to the pachia ammos beach. The studio is very comfortable for a couple, has everything you need and is very clean. The hosts were excellent as well.
Oh my goodness! Just a few yards from a pebbly beach. Keep in mind that little kids prefer the sandy beach, so this beach is peaceful! The rooms are fairly large, modern, and clean. The AC is great. Price can't be beat.
Hotel has all the facilities you need: Wi-Fi, air conditioner, clean rooms, surprisingly they cleaned the rooms every day in our short stay, and the value of money is excellent for Palaiochora
Fantastic personnel. The apartments are exactly in the heart of Palaiochora city, close to everything, beach-restaurants-shops-bars.
The room was quite comfortable and very spacious!
The location is fantastic to enjoy the beach and get easy access to the center of Palaiochora. The owner was friendly and easily accessible. The property was comfortable and clean.
The Aris hotel was everything you could wish for... fabulous location with wonderful ocean side stoll to shopping and restaurants... wonderful staff!!!
