The staff is the overwhelming standout for this hotel. They made me feel so welcome and were so accommodating. Breakfast was great, room was spacious and clean, balcony and opened doors made it feel even bigger.

although nafplio itself is not large, especially if you stick to the old town which is the most interesting part it is a good base for local tours either with a bus/ktel, affordable taxi or a car. We would have liked to at least check out Epidavros as well and a near by monastery. if you plan to visit nearby sites without basing your self in nafplio 2 days is plenty other wise 4 days to fit Mycenae and Epidavrus

3 nights max is perfect for Nafplio during the winter season. The city is beautiful, the Venesian forst was fabulous and the food is good. The only issue I have with the city is the terrible smell, air quality that seems to start around 5pm and continues until about 8 pm.

A great place with lots of history and plenty of places to eat. Very quaint in the old town and as the tourist season runs throughout the year, it was still having things open during December.
The castle’s are well worth a visit and the shops in the old towns are very much craft related.
It’s not expensive to eat out and it’s well worth a visit but it’s not a very big town so about 3 days would be enough. If you stayed longer, it would be as a base to explore all the old heritage sites located within a hours drive. Definitely get a hire car as no train comes out this far. We flew in to Athens which is a 2 hour drive on the motorway.

Worthwhile to visit. Great little find in Greece.
Worthwhile to visit. Great little find in Greece. Fly to Athens, catch a train as far as Corinth. We then got a taxi as it was late but on researching, better getting a bus from the airport to Nafplio. A third of the price and very convenient. We got a bus back from Nafplio. Sounds a faff but it wasn’t and very comfortable bus journey with helpful driver. Def worth the effort to get to there to visit . Walked up to Palmedi fortress. Wow! The views were stunning. Got the boat over to the other fortress - nice trip. Took the little road train too - only 20 minutes and helps get bearings round the town. Loads of walking. Loads of pubs and restaurants and shops. Food was all fresh and amazing fish served too.
Everything was truly spectacular! The location was perfect — walkable to all of the shops and restaurants, yet the hotel itself was private and quiet. The staff were friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast was an indulgent experience; such a treat!
We’ll be recommending the Hotel Ilion to all of our friends who travel to Greece, and will be sure to return ourselves!
An exceptional apartment in the heart of beautiful Nafplio. What is there not to love!? The location is perfect - walking distance from everything you could need. The apartment is tastefully set up with brilliant facilities throughout. Takis is kind and an excellent host. We spent our days driving to secluded beaches and evenings strolling the old town. Nothing will top the sunset walks around the headland. We would visit again and again.
We had a beautiful stay at Rigas Pension. It is hard to put to words the feeling we had staying there—the accommodation was so warm and homey and the staff so incredibly hospitable. The rooms were impeccably clean and the breakfast was SO GOOD—every day we had something new and different, but always so delicious. A true 10/10 accommodation. We are so grateful we ended our 28 day trip to Greece on such a high note.
This was the perfect way to spend our last weekend in Greece. A quiet and cozy getaway from the hubbub of Athens and the islands. The hotel location was perfect, the staff provided fabulous recommendations for meals and activities (including a local jeweler because they noticed the rings on my fingers that were similar in style!). Perhaps most importantly to me - the breakfast in bed was dreamy and filling.
A tastefully decorated, small boutique hotel with staff that go out their way, this hotel is worth every cent. Although it is pricier than many hotels in Nafplio, it is worth it . I had told the staff that it was my 20th wedding anniversary and they made it very special for us with many romantic details. The room was comfortable and the food at the restaurant was delicious.
Great budget hotel in the heart of Nafplio. It felt like coming back to the 70-ies to stay here; owned by a very nice and attentive family who built the hotel themselves on top of their private house and still stays on the ground floor just like old times. Very clean and comfortable matress, new toilet and taps in sink and shower. Only a 10 min walk to the old town.
Great location, clean and comfortable, nice view, easy parking on street around corner. Helpful staff.
We enjoyed Nafplio after the big hike to the top of the citadel and had a swim. There was a concert in one of the main squares close to the hotel which was most enjoyable. Nafplio is one of the most interesting places to visit so far in our 6 week stay in Greece.
A Newer clean facility. It was a 5minute drive from the harbor of Nafplion. You will probably need a car. The location is pleasant and private. the breakfast was really good and the owners were friendly and helpful. Google maps takes you to the wrong address, so make sure you enter the actual address of the hotel into google maps, and not just the hotel name.
Very nice and quiet hotel. Nicely decorated.
Beautiful courtyard with vegetation, trees, flowers and view over Nafplio rooftops and sea.
Very tasty breakfast in the courtyard, adorable and welcoming staff.
Perfect location, center of Nafplio but in a calm area, a few steps away from the animated and noisy streets.
Great apartment, very clean, comfortable, with a terrific view of the Venetian fortress from the balcony. Well stocked kitchen. Electric stove worked very well, faster than other places we stayed in Greece.
The location is great, in the very heart of the Old Town, just 5-7 minutes away from the bus station.
Excellent choice for a one night stay in Nafplion. Great location. We appreciated the suggestion offered by the staff at the reception to take the Nafplia Palace Hotel lift (at the end of the little street) to go up to the Clock Tower to watch thesunset above the sunset over the city. Fabulous.
A quick text and we were met within a couple of minutes on arrival at the property. The area is quiet but plenty of shops very nearby and a shortish walk to the old part of Nafplion. Lovely big bed, easy to park and would stay again if I go back to that part of Greece again.
The hotel has a nice garden. As soon as we arrived the hotel, the staff ran to our car to greet us. And the hotel provided greeting gifts to us - a bottle of wine and Greek sweets. It’s close to Nafplio with a few minutes drive. The room is nice and clean.
I come to Greece every year. This was by far one of the best hotels I’ve stayed.
The staff, service , comfort and don’t forget the breakfast was the best!
If ever in this area? Well worth it. Thank you Ms. Eleni!! Everything was perfect!
The hotel is small but very charming, beautifully decorated and perfectly located in the center. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Don’t miss the breakfast with delicious homemade products. Nothing to envy to a 5 stars hotel!
Marianna was wonderful! We couldn't have been happier with our stay. The family who owns the hotel is amazing and was happy to meet any requests we had. We'll be staying again the next time we visit Nafplio!
a very good location in the center of Nafplio, excellent breakfast (the best in Greece that we had), and even we were leaving earlier than it starts, they agreed that we had breakfast anyway
