Such a beautiful little seaside village that comes to life at night. Could have stayed longer and enjoyed the views, vibes and people. Also we found the pricing cheaper for food and drinks. I must stop

The room was clean and relatively new looking.
The room was clean and relatively new looking. There is no wifi or tv in room. They have wifi at the bar and should be able to get it to rooms with routers but have not bothered. The bed was a disaster, it was hardest bed I have ever tried to sleep on. My wife and I both hardly slept and had sore back in the morning. We have been travelling for over 5 weeks had no problem with any other beds.

There is a great vibe at Matala that differs from the rest of Creta. The hippie feel is true. We caught live music the night we were there and it was the best moment.
This along with the red beach - strongly recommend.

Matala is a tourist hot spot.
Matala is a tourist hot spot. So a lot of restaurants there, lot of tourist shops with souvenirs and a lot of people. The beach itself is not that big, but it was nice though. I mean it really depends on what you are looking for. I am more fond of less crowded and less touristy places, so perhaps next time I would look for something more matching my preferences. On the other hand there is nothing wrong about Matala at all. All the people there are very friendly. Really it depends on what you prefer...

Matala is a quiet little town with not a lot of traffic, music or noise. You come here to relax. If you like naturist beaching this place is definitely for you (Red beach and Komos beach).
Moreover, Matala can be a good base for visiting the area (you have to rent a car or a bike).

The beach in matala, the red beach and the caves of matala are a must see. When you are in matala I would recommend the Restaurants Georges Yard, Plaka and Hakuna matata.
Hotel Matala was exactly what we expected it to be.... wonderful.
Small hotel in the beach zone, which was one street from the beach and the village centre, so quiet at night away from the bustle. Room was exceptionally clean, lovely shower and comfortable beds.
There's no pool here which does not matter at all as the beach is 2 minutes away.
Free parking just up the road was great - there's very little parking in the beach zone.
Lovely owner who was super helpful.
Astounding value for the price
Highly recommend
Beautiful room with balcony, quiet and comfortable sleeping, fridge available, aircondition working, good cleaning every day, good breakfast, very friendly staff, 2 mins walk to the beautiful beach. Many restaurants and souvenir shopping nearby (handmade stuff also
available). Matala is peaceful, live music in one of the pubs in the evening (hotel is located quiet, but central 5 min walking distance to everything)

Absolutely AMAZING apartment in SPECTACULAR MATALA.
The place is probably the best short term rental we ever stayed, and we do travel quite a lot.
Eva, the host was super accommodating... but the place.... the place is just AWESOME... the pictures do not do justice... you're RIGHT ON THE BEACH in Matala, one of the most enchanting towns in Crete (or is it on earth?).
Xenia’s Dias is in an excellent location for walking everywhere in Matala, and an added bonus is the free parking on sight. The bed was very comfortable, our room was quiet, everything was spotless, and the staff was very helpful. The free breakfast at a nearby cafe was delicious and came with a great view of the beach.
This is a very simple hotel in a great location in Matala. The parking and location were definitely the highlights and make everything about the experience easy. The room was spacious but simple. Staff was kind and helpful without being intrusive. 2 minute walk into the heart of Matala and the beautiful beach.
I like most of the things, the host was great, the bed was wonderful, even small things like plates glasses and other things was in the room. The location of staying was perfect, not far away from one of the coolest towns and beaches. Awesome for short term staying
Very easy to collect the key from nearby café. Worth the money modest room with small kitchen (glasses, kettle, etc). Very pleasant to have a compliment - raki, apples & litre of retsina! Beach in 1 minute - the middle of Matala!
Thank you!
Very spacious and new room with balcony.
The hotel is very close to the beach and even has a pool. Plenty of parking available.
Breakfast buffet was very good and so was the optional buffet for dinner, which is excellent value.

Very nice , clean apartment, just a few hundred meters away from the beach. Far enought to be nice and quiet , close enough to go by feet.
Recently renovated, Very nice shower and had everything we might need.
The whole Matala beach is amazing, one of the best in Crete. And with the nice accomodation just a few steps from the beach, tavernas, shops makes the it unforgetable holiday. We miss Matala spirit!
We stayed only for one night and our room was nice and simple with a pool view. The hotel has free parking. You can reach the beach and Matala caves by foot (approx. 10 min walking).
