The size of the rooms. They were very big and gave us a lot of room without feeling we were on top of each other. The children’s entertainment team were excellent. They made the holiday! A great variety of activities including some excellent shows. The selection of pools (even though they were feeezing-but we didn’t care) and the crystal clear sea! We loved the beach and the Little Rock pools!

Great location right on the beach , near to beachside restaurants 50 - 100 metres to the right and right in the small town centre for more restaurants, cafes and supermarket. Kalyves is a very relaxed place , retaining a traditional feeling not touristy in the slightest. Mixture of nationalities , French, German, Polish, British, Israelis and more. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Two nice swimming pools outdoor and one indoor pool in the spa. Water was a bit chilly but was mid may so not surprising.

Kalami itself is such a small place that you could drive right through without even realising it (blink and you'd miss it!). However,it's an excellent place for a stop-over from Chania Airport, and the bigger picturesque village of Kalives with its numerous tavernas and beautiful sandy beach are only 5 minutes' drive away. We only stayed in Kalami for 2 nights, once at the beginning of our holiday before we drove to Eastern Crete, and once again on our way back, so we didn't really have time to explore. If there were any shops there, we didn't find them, just 2 tavernas. Kalami is set off the main National Highway and is on the busy main route into Kalives. Our accommodation,
'Olympic View' was quite high above the road so there was no noise from traffic and gave us a fantastic view across the bay.
