Good base location for visiting beaches on the northwest side of Crete. All inclusive was a nice plus that helped save on meals and time when returning from sightseeing all day and not having to go elsewhere to find food, however we were never there for lunches. They even had sandwiches and water in our fridge upon arrival after traveling all day to get there from the States. Very clean, modern decor and plenty of storage for clothes. Great view of the sea right on the beach. Best pool bar staff with Eleni and Claudia! Eleni is a true gem and works hard. She made the best drinks and all staff was friendly and welcoming.

We drived to Elafonisi beach and took around one and half hour from the hotel. It's amazing scenery on the way there. Some parts of the road are quite narrow and winding. Must drive with caution. The beach is very beautiful and has also pink sand. The water is shalllow, clear with a turquoise color and smooth waves. We also take a day trip cruise to Balos beach and Gramvousa

Gerani is a quiet area 25 minutes outside of Chania and easy to reach by car or bus if you choose. Great base for sightseeing the northwest beaches. Close to restaurants and markets if you have a rental car or don’t mind walking about 10 minutes. Safe area to walk at night. Easy to teach Balos Beach, Elafonisi and Falassarna Beaches.

Such a lovely 'part of the world', plenty to see and experience. We chose to use Gerani as our base and visited other parts of the island staying one night elsewhere ie: (Iracleon). One week was clearly, not enough for Crete, will need to come back.

It was quiet and a nice respite from the busier areas. It offered good access to drive to different places. There were many facilities nearby so you could walk to restaurants, bars, etc. A lovely long beach.

The Gerani Beach is OK for strong swimmers and adults but it is not suitable for young children. The water gets deep very quickly and the waves are strong at the shoreline even on calm days. The water is murky due to being stirred up by the strong waves. There are also rocks that are hard on the feet to step past to get in the water. We stayed for 2 weeks in the second half of July and about 8 of those days were red flag days when swimming in the sea was not allowed due to dangerous waves (strong winds). For the children to swim in the sea, we took the bus to a nearby beach (Kalamaki) that had sand, crystal clear water, less waves and did not suddenly get deep. Also, make sure you get accommodation with a pool. The Gerani area is nice however for a peaceful holiday as it is away from shops and busier tourist areas.
Amid the wild nature of its surroundings, this petite hotel emerges as a veritable oasis, aptly catering to the needs of its guests. The small assortment of plants harmoniously mingle with the precision trimmed grass and the structures of a Hellenic allure. The cozy pool discovers the turquoise expanse of the ocean through a small garden of trees who's majestic canopies offer serene shade during the torrid days. The unassuming restaurant ushers in gastronomic delights, which compelled me to return, time after time.
If you are looking for one of those small and cosy hotels right on the beach a bit outside of the city, where the staff is more like a family, you don't have to compete with other guests about reserving a sunbed with towel, have real orange juice at breakfast - this is it. We had a really nice 2-week long holiday with our family and had the best time. It is also worth mentioning, that the food tastes so good! Besides the menu they have a daily special and we didn't have anything that we didn't love.
The hotel is in a quiet, peaceful location. No noise of traffic disturbs your rest. We had a room with sea views so we could listen to the murmur of the sea even at night.
The all inclusive care was perfect. There was always something new: squid, octopus, lamb... Of course, we could always choose our favorite Greek salad. :)
Luckily for us, the stormy winds of September took only two days. But these days we were able to use the pool.
The rooms were cleaned every day, we were given clean towels.
The hotel is one of the best place in Crete. The reception staff was very helpful and offered to us an upgraded room with private pool free of charge even though we booked a standard room. The restaurant offer a large selection of different dishes and in our stay we didn’t eat the same thing twice. They also offer to us a bottle of red wine and some fruits in the room in the first day. Cleaning is also very good. We highly recommend this place and we considered the best value for money.
If you’re looking for a clean, centrally located, nice family run hotel this is the place.
Facilities are very clean. Rooms are large and the pool and bar were always a great place to spend some time.
The staff went out of there way to ensure our stay here was pleasant and accommodated our family’s needs.
I don’t think you can find a better overall hotel to stay for the price.
We definitely recommend this hotel for any type of stay.
It was a lovely hotel with so many different areas to explore. Plenty of seating and lounging spaces and the area on the beach with sun loungers was idyllic. All the staff were lovely and really helpful in anything we needed or asked. Although the location is a bit remote (25 mins drive from Chania old town) we really liked this as you could escape and fully relax away from the hustle and bustle.
Maria was a wonderful hostess and with her and the cleanliness, our stay was A+. The hotel is located in a perfect spot right next to the ocean. Few restaurants here and there close by, but you need to walk a bit or take a taxi to get anywhere with more people and bars. For the most days, it felt like we had our own private pool!
Very friendly family owned small hotel. A bit far from the main street, but there's a bus every 20min. Or just rent a car.
The facility is basic but sufficient and great value for money. We were let to check out at 2000 with no problem and at no additional cost, which was very nice.
The overall experience was great.
The best thing is that we booked the hotel for only two nights (though I was seriously considering to move out immediately).
The beach near hotel is not nice but it has some turtle nests on it (marked and fenced), which is an interesting to see (though, of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel).
Spontaneously booked this hotel for a short vacation and it completely exceeded our expectations. The staff is incredible, especially Eleni at the bar. Her specialty cocktails are incredible. We didn’t want to leave.
- 5min walk to the beach, by going through other hotels that are directly on the seaside
- Good size swimming pool
- Breakfast included in the room price & including local specialities
- The whole staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Tea.
- Breakfast was nice and fresh.
- The sea view from the hotel.
- Swimming pool was nice eventhough a bit small.
All the staff are super lovely! They always made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach and the room was fantastic.
I arrived late arround midnight but the owner was there to give me the kye and show me the room.
Nice.
The rooms themselves are O.K. for a hotel af this standard.
The location of the hotel is very quiet. Perfect for families that doen't like bustling cities and crowded beaches. The sea view from balcony also was very nice.
