Great location, and I appreciated the extras with the facilities (mixture of good quality tea, coffee, glass bottled water and biscuits) and very clean, looks like the room was renovated fairly recently, beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Food from the restaurant was lovely too!

Old Welwyn us a sleepy, pretty little village, Welwyn Garden City (a couple of miles, if that) is a lovely little town, lots of restaurants and bars. London is 30 minutes by train. Stay here and commute in if you want a London holiday....

I was in the area to visit family and since they didn't have room for me I stayed in this hotel/restaurant/pub. It was very comfortable and the room was quiet even with the bar downstairs. The bed was comfortable, which is always important! I had the option to have my room refreshed every day if I chose to. Welwyn is a cute village and I always felt safe. I didn't eat in town since I was visiting family but there are lots of places to eat.

It is a lovely village with an very good selection of places to eat and drink. We enjoyed our walk around the village, it felt safe and welcoming. Very close to the M25 for journeys further afield. The surrounding countryside is beautiful too.

We were visiting the area for a particular reason and chose Welwyn because we were aware (a little bit) of it. We found the town very much to our liking; plenty of choice for evening meals and, surprisingly, very quiet at night.

I stayed there shortly, but there are some nice pubs around there. The Rose and the Crown (pub) was amazing and it has a very large garden through which you can enjoy the nice weather while drinking a couple of beers. It is highly recommended.
The location was perfect, it was so peaceful and we felt as though we were on holiday. We definitely will stay again.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Luxurious, quality bedding, loved the period furniture, all kept to appropriate age of the hotel. The bar was well equipped and busy, it was nice to see a range of ages in the bar (a testament of popularity) not all residents, but had a relaxed atmosphere.
The breakfast was amazing. Good quality products, variety of choices continental to fruit and a full English.
The room was so nice, comfy, clean and luxurious, you can find tea/coffee, biscuits and a kettle at a glance when you enter the room, the tub was amazing, there is a lovely bar in the hotel and staff are admiring, bed was so comfy and I didn't want to wake up in the next morning, the hotel is close the nice pubs, restaurants and Tesco and they are in walk distance. Free parking is available. It is highly recommended.
The place is a gem. A small group of us stayed there as we were visiting London. Brilliant staff, lovely food, uber 5 minutes away and a train service from Welwyn North was great. Rooms were immaculate, comfy mattresses and great selection of tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits in the room. Staff behind the bar and waiting on the tables can not be thanked enough.
I found the cottage very superb, very quaint and also very clean. I found the property in a very nice location and quiet the garden’s were very stunning and kept beautiful. Would recommend and come again.
Stunning hotel with so much history and character. The room was exceptional and the bed so comfortable. Staff also couldn’t do enough for you. 11 out of 10
Wonderful surprise when I arrive, an absolute gem, beautiful village it was in and the hotel was full of charm, the staff were excellent and very friendly
