This property is absolutely exceptional. It is tastefully decorated throughout with beautiful finishing touches- I particularly loved the gorgeous hardback books. The linens are of great quality, as are the toiletries (a variety of Molton Brown). The kitchen has everything that you could need. We loved having our morning coffee with the stable door open, the radio on and the sunshine streaming in. As with the rest of the house, everything is really high quality, with a coffee machine, Nespresso pods, and a great breakfast hamper provided. The homemade cupcakes were also a lovely touch.
Travelling with a 9 month old, it can be hard to find places that feel safe and where you don’t have to pack your whole house. This cottage is perfect for anyone travelling with a family. We were provided with a travel cot (which Elley communicated about in advance to check which bedroom we’d like it in), a high chair, baby cutlery, toys, children’s books and (probably most importantly) safety gates.
The outside space is gorgeous. We had a lovely al fresco dinner looking over the castle.
Location is spot on. It took us just under 25 minutes to get to both York and Helmsley, and just over an hour to reach the coast. Sheriff Hutton is really peaceful and the pub is only a short walk and does a great range of food.

Our 2nd time staying at the granary and both times have been lovely.
The property is very clean and tidy, the beds are comfortable and all the little things have been thought about (tea towels, washing up liquid, etc)
The area is very quiet and the parking is secure. Location is well situated and only took us a 20 minute drive to get into York city centre.
Hosts were lovely and very organised!
Just 20 minutes’ drive from York centre, Thompsons Arms offers rooms set within the pub. It has free parking, free WiFi and is 5 miles from Castle Howard.

We had a lovely stay at Hazelwood Farm. Annette looked after us very well offering us tea and cakes on our arrival and a hearty breakfast in the mornings. The room was lovely and clean, the bed really comfy. Hope to return in the future.

The surrounding North Yorkshire countryside is spectacular with many lovely villages and the Market town of Easingwold near by.
