I hadn't considered what to expect in Jersey but was pleasantly surprised.
The island is beautiful with a very laid-back feel to it.
St Helier is the perfect size to walk around with plenty of places to eat and drink, and nice quality shops. It has the feel of a nice country town.
Be aware that most restaurants close around 9.00pm so don't get caught out!
The bus from outside the airport took us straight to the town and it is easy to travel around the island from the bus station in St Helier. Helpful staff and a choice of bus tickets for longer stays.
We took an afternoon tour around the island which helped us decide which areas we wanted to visit again. We visited in spring so the blossoms were out, and Jersey has the most beautiful vast beaches.
Friendly and helpful people everywhere we went which added to the experience.

Average city, not very much to do here other than shopping, some pretty areas for photographing. Very disappointing choice of restaurants. Not the place to visit if you are remotely interested in food.

Great selection of restaurants.
Great selection of restaurants. We had superb meals at The White Horse, Roseville Bistro and Petisco Tradicional all within walking distance of our hotel. Not so impressed with cake at Pomme D'Or Cafe. Loved the cycle paths along the sea front and marked cycle routes out to the War Tunnels and Gorey Castle were excellent.

This could be a lovely place.
This could be a lovely place. We found almost everything in the area closed. Websites didn’t reflect museums, galleries being closed for staff training or just closed. I recommend checking by calling each place to be sure. Many shops closed down and restaurants close at 9pm. The only thing open to do was the cinema and bowling which was not signposted and hard to find plus feeling like a bowling alley from the 70’s. A number of places no longer exist, like arcades and attractions for kids. Overall it felt like stepping back to the 1980’s. If you want beaches and to eat then it’s lovely but therefore would only recommend in the summer months. People are very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was like an oven, far too hot for comfort. The room was baking and I could t sleep. Contacted reception who promised to move me whilst I went to work, but they failed to do so. Really terrible.stay. I get the raft of good feedback but not the experience I had. I even emailed the general manager regarding my stay... he's not bothered to even acknowledge my email let alone reply to it. Disgusting
Yet again the Hotel De France didn't let me down. A very old-school hotel in the best possible way and with their superb pools make the perfect base. Comfy, clean rooms and fully carpeted throughout. And as an added bonus, no piped musak in public areas due to the Queen's death...that should be a normal feature! Good to see a free shuttle bus between the hotel and town, just book at reception.
The location was close to the town centre which we liked. The hotel was on a busy road but you didn’t notice the traffic noise once you’re inside the hotel.
The breakfasts were excellent and the staff very attentive. The breakfast room itself was also a very lovely and airy space to eat in.
There was also a beautiful lounge to sit in at the hotel, should you need it.
I enjoyed the spa , swimming pool and hammam. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean.
We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot leave a comment on that.
The free car park and the proximity with the city centre are very appreciable.
It was a relaxed and well maintained hotel with spacious gardens in a lovely setting. Loved the pool facilities. Close enough to bus routes and leisurely walks into St Helier. Stayed on a half board basis and meals were delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
The helpful, welcoming staff, the spacious en-suite room, easy access during the day, short walk to the town centre (via the nearby tunnel under the castle) and the super breakfasts! In fact, the hotel was BETTER than the description given on Booking.com.
Overall a great location within Jersey.
The room was brilliant with plenty of tea/coffee and facilities.
Never saw the hosts however well informed about how to access property and collect room key.
Amazing place and already been looking to return
Hotel is situated on the board walk immediately above the beach, Havre des pas. Enjoyed watching swimmers, kayakers, paddle boarders enjoying the water while we breakfasted. Hotel is on a major bus route wih frequent, excellent service
Great location, clean and well looked after. It is my first choice of accommodation when staying in Jersey.
Was upgraded to the larger property which is just as great as the smaller ones, well equipped and plenty of space.
Good selection of food for breakfast, great staff, easy to walk into the town centre. Décor is fine its what adds charm to the Hotel. Room cleaned each day and towels changed. In all would stay again.
Lovely location, facilities were great - we used the pool. We did not eat at the hotel and didnt see the staff much, but the cleaners did a great job and the bar staff seemed friendly and polite.
On sea front, clean, good breakfast, comfortable beds. We had a room at the back, which was very quiet but there is a main road in front of the hotel. 15 minute walk to town centre.
The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the town centre which we liked. The staff were friendly & helpful. We enjoyed the pool & sauna. Great breakfast & good value for money!
Beautiful hotel and facilities head waitress (from the Broch you know who you are!!) and senior reception staff excellent very welcoming and attentive.
