Really enjoyed our peaceful stay here. Lovely location right beside Loch Fyne. Staff were most friendly and helpful and breakfast and evening meals were all excellent. Look out for dolphins and seals in the loch - just sorry we slept through the Northern Lights.

The location was lovely. Check in process was smooth and easy. Our rooms were so spacious and comfortable. The clawfoot tub was so cool and enjoyable. The beds were extremely comfortable. They provided ear plugs & eye masks as well. The staff were all so kind and amazing! Everyone we spoke to was very helpful and nice. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, but limited options. However, it was more than enough for what we needed, and you could always purchase additional more hot breakfast if you really wanted. We really enjoyed our stay here, and if we ever come back I would book again!

We booked the king room with the loch view for the last two nights of our stay in Scotland. It was beautiful, and the comfy chairs in front of the picture window were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous view! Liz and Billy were the consummate hosts and we would not hesitate to stay again the next time we are in the area.

Breakfast was wonderful! Our hostess offered a huge choice of cold food - cheeses, yogurt, bagels, rolls, spreads, etc - as a buffet and also offered cooked items as well. We had a nice French press for coffee, with refills on request, and plenty of juice choice as well. Very yummy!
It was just lovely. The house was beautiful and well decorated and had lovely old architectural features. The bedroom was very nice and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was so good!! Lots of food and all delicious. Can’t say enough good things about Avril and Sue. Great ladies with a heart for hospitality. We especially appreciated our afternoon tea after arriving.

There is plenty to see within a 20 mile radius of the sleepy village which overlooks Loch Fyne and Inveraray on the other side of the loch.
We visited Old Lachlan Castle and Kilmorie Chapel and hiked up Dun na Cuaiche which overlooks Inveraray Castle during our stay. The latter is a lengthy and steep walk. The area in general is very scenic.

Saint Catherines is quiet, but on the Lochside overlooking Inveraray. You definitely need a car to stay there and see the areas around. It's about a 20 mins drive to Loch Lomond and the same to Inveraray.

A beautiful hotel in a stunning setting.
It was staffed by the owners and extra care was taken to make our stay very enjoyable.
Our room was lovely with a large window that overlooked the loch and we saw an otter swimming - it was magical.
Breakfast was exceptional and freshly cooked to order.
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough - the owners went the extra mile to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and memorable.
This has been one of the best stays I’ve had in any accommodation.
The views from the room, exceptional breakfast and everyone at the hotel we’re so nice and so willing to be help.
I’ve stayed in 5 hotels on this trip to Scotland and this was the first and set the standards so high that a 5 star hotel was not anywhere close to how good Thistel was.
Another wonderful stay at this exceptional hotel.
Yet again staff were super friendly and provided an excellent service.
I cannot rate it highly enough.
