Typical student town, with many young people in evidence.
Typical student town, with many young people in evidence. Safe, friendly feel to the town, even in the evening at the weekend. Lots of variety in the restaurants and cafés, good shopping with some very good independent shops, as well as the usual chains.

To be honest I wouldn't go to Loughborough on holiday but its a nice town. If you like a drink check out Moonface brewery. The market in the town is on twice a week and is nice.

Totally recommend the Great Central Railway.
Totally recommend the Great Central Railway. Loughborough seems an interesting town with some nice architectural detail on some of the older terraced housing and a choice of two Wetherspoons for the evening

Very friendly people, nice parks nearby, Charnwood waters a lovely place to visit, steam railway located here for steam enthusiasts, small shopping centre, very busy police presence at night which was concerning!! we did also notice that the area could do with a mass cleanup of rubbish both in the parks and town centre which was a shame as it let the area down!!
The hotel is in a good location, about 5mins off M1, stayed here for a visit to Donington park. The room was a good size, had a bath and a shower. The ground floor reception area was bright and open with seating arranged around it. The bar was in this area so easily accessible. The breakfast was also served in this area, plenty of choices from cold to hot traditional but all self service. All in all a great find and not expensive either.
Our room was fine in the end but it was the third room we were shown. The first one had a toilet that didn't flush. The wardrobe doors were also hanging off the wardrobe. We were then given another room but the toilet in this room didn't flush either. The third room was fine. Much larger but still rather tired looking. The whole hotel could do with a refurb.
We were attending a wedding at a nearby venue and were struggling to find hotels that offered family rooms. We were lcky enough to find Charnwood Regency Guest House who were more than helpful. Our room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was lovely.
Staff were friendly and accommodating and the decor was lovely. We'd be happy to stay here again!
Spacious grounds and hotel internal areas. Nice bar lounge and breakfast room. Our Executive room was well appointed and quiet but not plush. Waitress Libby was very helpful and pleasant. We visited when the university students had not yet returned from holidays, so the place was no doubt a little quieter than normal with fewer guests.
The location was very nice in a beautiful village location and only 10 mins from Loughborough university where we needed to go. The gardens were lovely and very large . The mattress on the bed was one of the most comfortable that we have had in a hotel . The staff were very helpful especially the receptionist.
A charming place filled with artifacts, antiques, nice hosts, very nice full English breakfast. Great location in Loughborough, we were there to visit our student child, so it was good to be able to walk to the town Centre, to Uni etc. Parking in the grounds helped.
The hotel is in great location being in centre Loughborough
The refurbished rooms are excellent value for money and my first choice over travelodge and premier and usually cheaper if booked in advance
Staff are warm friendly and helpful so would highly recommend
Great room with tea/coffee and ensuite. Very friendly staff. They even stayed up for us when our arrival was delayed until 1am. Perfect location for visiting the university as it is within walking distance as well as the town centre.
I stayed there to help my son to settle to Lboro University and the location of the hotel is excellent in the heart of the campus, very clean and spacious rooms, very helpful staff
This was a clean and comfortable room for a 1 night’s stay. Convenient for the town centre. Free parking too. Reasonable priced drinks in the pub nice and friendly staff.
Large room, big comfy bed, great value for money. We did not eat, but it looked fine. Big car park, well located for university and short distance from M1 or from town.
Location was spot on for access to town and close to Loughborough University.
Everything was clean and quiet in the evenings to ensure a good nights sleep.
